Island School Communications Internship
The Cape Eleuthera Island School seeks an enthusiastic, motivated, and driven individual to join its communications and marketing team in a volunteer role as a Communications Intern. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated interest and/or education and experience in communications, marketing, and film. This individual will work with all facets of the organization to promote our facilities and programs and share our work and ideologies with our alumni base, the scientific community, and the wider world. This is a 4-month internship at The Island School campus, Eleuthera, Bahamas.
Internship Responsibilities
- Work with a small team to deliver creative and professional visual content for website, social media, print, and other marketing needs
- Assist in the capturing, editing, and publishing of small video productions and the publishing of photographs of our day-to-day campus life for our worldwide client base
- Assist in gathering blog/news content in the field and in the office
- Provide an editing eye for flawless final production
- Facilitate all on-island printing and A/V needs
- Support organization-wide and community events
- Support the communications and marketing team in any and all projects
- Comfortable working outdoors and in/around boats
- Proficient swimmer; scuba certification preferred but not required
Preferred Qualifications
- This position requires flexibility, perseverance, and the ability to work long hours with a can-do attitude
- 19+ with a strong preference for at least one year of professional or college experience post secondary school
- Possess an interest or background in communications and marketing, graphic design or a related field
- Experience in photography and/or videography
- Should be outgoing, inquisitive and organized with proven commitment to deadlines
- Ownership of a camera is preferred
