Market Data Analyst

40 hours per week, hybrid in Venlo (NL)

As a Market Data Analyst, you act as a trusted sparring partner to senior management and internal stakeholders for information on markets and competitors. You interpret market and competitive data, derive meaningful insights, and support others in understanding the business implications behind the numbers.

The focus of this role is not on deep data science, but on translating data into insights and providing advice to support strategic decision making.

What You’ll Do

  • Deliver clear market, product portfolio and competitive insights based on quantitative and qualitative data, both ad hoc as well as in recurring reporting
  • Act as a sparring partner for senior managers and internal stakeholders by translating data into actionable business insights and recommendations
  • Support mid-term strategic planning by assessing market developments, business potential and strategic decisions on product positioning and roadmap
  • Provide recommendations on competitive positioning, Canon product portfolio positioning and relevant market developments
  • Manage relationships with external market research institutes and analyst networks
  • Continuously improve reporting frameworks, methodologies, tools and processes

Who You’ll Work With

You will be part of the Product Strategy and Planning organization and work closely with a broad range of stakeholders across Canon Production Printing, regional headquarters and Canon Inc.

The team focuses on the market, business potential and competitive landscape, before the product marketing phase starts.

In this role, you help shape the way CPP is positioned within the broader Canon portfolio and support mid-term strategic discussions across the business. You operate in a broad international business environment and know how to align different perspectives, challenge decision-makers with data-driven insights and support strategic discussions with a well-balanced, fact-based point of view.

What You Bring

  • A bachelor’s or academic degree
  • A minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience is required
  • A strong background in an analytical / strategic role (e.g. market intelligence, market research, strategy consulting or a comparable field)
  • The ability to interpret data and translate it into into clear business insights, reports and presentations
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and the confidence to take on an advisory role towards senior management and internal stakeholders
  • A proactive, independent and conceptually strong way of working, while staying focused on business relevance
  • Advisory mindset rather than a deep data science focus
  • Project management skills and the ability to coordinate activities across multiple stakeholders
  • You combine a proactive, independent mindset with strong communication skills and a natural ability to collaborate across teams
  • Fluent English communication skills, both spoken and written; German and/or Dutch is a plus
  • You live in the Venlo region as this role requires to work in office for at least half of the time
