The Opportunity:

Join a mission focused team driving strategic growth across Federal Government, Defense, and Civilian, markets. As a Business Development Specialist, you’ll help shape and win pursuits ranging from $10M–$50M+, including high priority efforts that may exceed $100M. In this role, you’ll collaborate closely with capture leaders, technical SMEs, consultants, and strategic partners while engaging directly with customers through meetings, presentations, and industry events. You can expect travel—approximately 10%—for conferences and customer engagements that advance our pursuits and strengthen relationships.




Responsibilities:

You will oversee business development, capture, and proposal activities that drive new business growth. Responsibilities include:

  • Plan, organize, and manage captures within assigned markets.
  • Perform opportunity surveillance to identify aligned RFIs and qualify pre‑proposal opportunities supporting business group capabilities.
  • Develop capture strategies, teaming plans, business plans, and marketing content—leveraging SOPs, templates, and cross‑organizational collaboration with CACI business groups, contract managers, talent acquisition, and program managers.
  • Develop winning solutions for proposals, including technical, management, teaming, past performance, staffing, and pricing.
  • Lead development of customer profiles, analyzing needs, issues, and goals.
  • Lead and coordinate competitive assessments to determine strengths and weaknesses of CACI and competitors, including incumbents.
  • Work collaboratively to craft price‑competitive, executable solutions that provide recognized customer value and evaluate favorably.
  • Prepare and lead Milestone Reviews and other required reviews once opportunities are assigned.
  • Maintain the business group’s knowledge management system to track and forecast opportunities; support pipeline discussions with internal leaders.
  • Recommend innovative technology solutions—including vendor niche product offerings—to strengthen win strategies.
  • Engage customers virtually and in person to shape opportunities, providing actionable intelligence back to the business group




Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution.
  • Five (5) years’ relevant experience in comparable activities or the equivalent in education plus experience.
  • Leadership and project management skills to develop, organize, and execute significant capture activities, including building industry teams, assessing win probability, and executing customer call plans to shape opportunities.
  • Excellent communication skills to lead cross‑organizational teams, and delegate responsibility, tasks, and authority as appropriate.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills to facilitate the completion of time‑sensitive projects with multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience capturing (sales, marketing, shaping, and proposal activities) single‑award business opportunities worth up to $100M or higher in revenue in the Government space.
  • Strong proposal development and writing skills, successfully conveying company capability, experience, and approach information.
  • Ability to operate independently with limited supervision and feedback, and establish collaborative relationships.
  • Excellent oral and written communications and experience briefing senior executives and customers.
  • Understanding of the FAR and DFAR, and how they impact how the Government procures and evaluates vendor proposals




Desired:

  • Master’s degree in a relevant field of study relating to Business, Communications, Finance, or Project Management.
  • Business Development experience with the Department of War, Department of Veterans Affairs, Department of Transportation, and/or Department of Homeland Security.
  • Understanding of acquisition and procurement support services, strategic communications, program management, and data analytics support.
  • Secret clearance
