Business Insider is seeking a Senior Manager, Creative Strategy to join a fast-paced, collaborative team responsible for developing strategic advertising campaigns that connect brands to our influential audience.

The Role & Team:

You’ll lead brainstorms, craft campaign narratives, and collaborate with cross-functional partners to build ideas that inspire brands and move the business forward. The ideal candidate is a creative thinker with strategic rigor, an understanding of how ad products and storytelling formats come to life, and a knack for translating complexity into clarity.

The Senior Manager reports to the VP, Creative Strategy & Studios and sits within the Global Marketing and Studios department. This position is based in our New York City HQ, with an in-office presence of at least two days per week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with Sales, agencies, and clients in collaborative brainstorms to clarify objectives and shape creative strategies that meet advertiser goals.
  • Create persuasive proposals and presentations that bring together storytelling, data, and insights to deliver results.
  • Work with Planning, Insights, and Strategy teams to build integrated campaigns that balance creativity and performance.
  • Use audience insights, category trends, and campaign learnings to recommend proactive, cross-platform content and partnership opportunities.
  • Collaborate with Product, Video, and Ad Innovation teams to help translate new formats and features into sellable creative ideas.
  • Support Sales in presenting campaign concepts and strategies, communicating ideas confidently to senior stakeholders.
  • Partner with Insights and Client Success teams to review campaign performance and apply learnings to future recommendations.
  • Maintain sales enablement materials, case studies, and editorial packages that help drive proactive selling and business growth.
  • Internally merchandise standout work and case studies to showcase success, share learnings, and inspire best practices across teams.

The Ideal Candidate: 

  • 5+ years of experience in marketing, advertising, or brand strategy — ideally within a publisher or high-growth media environment.
  • Exceptional storytelling ability — translating data, insights, and ideas into compelling narratives that resonate with both clients and audiences.
  • Strong writing and presentation skills, with a track record of producing high-quality creative materials.
  • A strategic and creative mindset, equally comfortable discussing brand goals, audience behavior, and business results.
  • Understanding of how ad products and creative storytelling intersect, with curiosity about emerging formats and innovation.
  • Proficiency in visual storytelling tools (slide design, mockups, data visualization).
  • A collaborative, proactive approach — able to manage multiple projects and stakeholders in a fast-moving environment.
  • High attention to detail, organization, and a solutions-oriented mindset.

  • Base salary: $100,000 - $115,000 (dependent on skills, experience, and competencies)
