We are looking for a Global Director of Marketing Operations to take a leading role in increasing marketing's business contribution – optimizing and operationalizing marketing strategy, processes, planning, data management, and measurement, and enabling marketing to become a more efficient and effective function.
Joining a growing and dynamic global marketing organization, this individual will work alongside the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) to elevate the perception and value marketing delivers to the business, with a strong focus on return on marketing investment.
This role serves as the operational engine behind product launches and campaign effectiveness, translating global product vision into structured, executable launch plans and campaigns, and orchestrating alignment between global and regional plans.
A critical part of the role is leading Marketing Excellence training and building a common marketing DNA across all Business Units and Regions, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities.
A defining priority of this role is to design, launch, and lead a new global Customer Experience Center of Excellence (CX COE), establishing it as the organization's dedicated hub for customer experience strategy, methodology, tools, and capability-building across all Business Units and Regions.
The position also plays a pivotal role in providing strategic direction and hands-on leadership for global marketing, with responsibilities spanning coordination of the Marketing Council and program priorities, optimization of work-planning and management tools such as the Annual Marketing Plans, governance of data privacy and compliance, and fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration within the marketing department – ensuring marketing efforts are cohesive, measurable, and aligned with business objectives.

Main Responsibilities

Marketing Operations Strategy & Governance

  • Develop a comprehensive Marketing Operations strategy aligned with the organization's goals and vision, focusing on modernization and efficiency.

  • Prioritize initiatives and establish a marketing project portfolio based on strategic importance, resource availability, and ROI; serve as a trusted advisor on process and program management matters.

  • Develop and implement standards, best practices, and methodologies across the marketing community, driving consistent program delivery, process improvements, and effective adoption of martech platforms and technologies.

  • In coordination with other departments, evaluate, adopt, or retire technologies based on organizational needs, and stay abreast of emerging industry trends to recommend innovations.

  • Audit existing processes to identify bottlenecks and implement improvements for efficiency and effectiveness.

Customer Experience Center of Excellence (CX COE)

  • Launch and lead a new global Customer Experience Center of Excellence, roll out standardized CX methodologies, tools, and playbooks, including customer journey mapping, Voice of Customer (VoC) programs, NPS, and personalization frameworks, to support consistent adoption worldwide.

  • Act as the accountable leader and primary point of contact for Customer Experience globally, building and leading a dedicated cross-functional CX community of practice across Business Units and Regions.

  • Partner with Sales, Marketing leaders and other key functions to embed CX practices into commercial and marketing processes and to identify and prioritize high-impact CX use cases.

  • Drive change management, communication, and training to build CX capability and maturity and establishing the CX COE as a recognized center of expertise.

Marketing Excellence, Planning & Budget

  • Develop and implement training initiatives to upskill the marketing community, elevating marketing competencies across all Regions and Business Units and driving a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.

  • Orchestrate the end-to-end marketing planning process on behalf of the CMO.

  • Lead the Global Marketing budgeting and financial planning processes and evaluate ROI across marketing channels and campaigns.

Data, Measurement & Vendor Management

  • Define measurement frameworks and key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor ROI, campaign effectiveness, and overall Marekting’s contribution to the business.

  • Drive the implementation of CX-related metrics and use cases across the organization, influencing marketing initiatives that improve both customer experience and internal efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Manage relationships with external agencies and suppliers to ensure alignment with organizational goals and maintain service quality.

Leadership & Stakeholder Management

  • Advise the CMO and marketing leadership (Marketing Council), leveraging marketing performance data and best practices.

  • Govern data privacy and compliance requirements across marketing operations and the CX COE, ensuring adherence to global and regional regulations.

Position Requirements

Education

Bachelor's degree required; MBA preferred, with a focus on business, marketing, communications, or healthcare management.

Background / Experience

  • 10+ years of marketing experience, including global and regional roles, with a proven track record in brand development, product marketing, or strategic planning. Experience in the medical device or pharmaceutical industry is preferred.

  • Demonstrated expertise in digital marketing and hands-on experience with marketing automation platforms.

  • Proven experience designing, launching, or leading a Center of Excellence, shared-services function, or comparable cross-functional capability, ideally in Customer Experience, Marketing Operations, or Commercial Excellence.

  • Strong understanding of customer journey mapping, audience segmentation and personalization strategies across digital and non-digital touchpoints.

  • Familiarity with the opportunity management process through the buyer's entire journey and sales cycle.

  • Demonstrated success leading and supporting cross-functional and high-performing teams, with a strong teamwork orientation.

  • Experience collaborating with and influencing Sales, customers, and Marketing leaders.

  • Expertise in data analysis, including the ability to identify, collect, analyze, and translate data into actionable insights and recommendations that drive business function improvement, growth opportunity identification, and/or strategy development.
