Role brief

Growth Roles summary, based on the employer's posting.

What you'll do

  • Build the events program from nothing, running more than forty events a year
  • Cover the full range: community gatherings, multi-city roadshows, large trade shows, and executive dinners
  • Set clear goals and measurable outcomes for each event tied to its audience
  • Team up with sales and leadership on pre-show outreach, on-site meetings, and follow-up that generates pipeline
  • Manage budgets, vendor relationships, timelines, and a repeatable playbook as things scale

What you bring

  • At least three years owning B2B events end-to-end across conferences, trade shows, executive experiences, and community
  • A builder's mindset for standing up an events function from scratch
  • Strong organization to juggle many events at once across owned and third-party programs
  • A habit of measuring events through to pipeline and acting on the data
  • Strong sense of how the brand shows up, from signage and swag to booth design

Who this fits

This suits an events marketer who likes building from zero and can swing between strategy and day-of logistics. It is based in the Flatiron office five days a week when not traveling, with travel of 15-25% for major conferences. Familiarity with the accounting profession and groups like AICPA is a plus, not a must. Pay is stated at 85000-135000 USD per year.

Field Marketing Manager

What you'll be doing

Accounting is a relationship-driven industry. Firms buy from people they've met and trust. Basis's events program puts us in front of accounting and enterprise finance leaders at the moments that matter. This role builds that program from the ground up.

You'll plan and run 40+ events per year across the full spectrum: customer community events, multi-city roadshows, 2,000+ person industry trade shows, and intimate executive dinners. Each one gets clear goals, tailored programming, and measurable outcomes tied to the specific audience in the room.

You'll partner closely with sales and leadership to design pre-show outreach, on-site meeting programs, and post-event follow-up sequences that turn booth traffic and attendee engagement into qualified pipeline. You'll own event budgets, vendor relationships, and timelines. As we scale, you'll build the playbook that makes it all repeatable.

What you’ll bring

0-1 mindset. Comfort building the events function and processes from scratch.

Brand instinct. A strong eye for how Basis shows up in every room, from signage and swag to booth design and team presence.

Strategic execution. The ability to toggle seamlessly between high-level event strategy and hands-on, day-of execution.

Ruthless organization. A track record of managing a high volume of events simultaneously across both owned and third-party programs without losing the thread.

Data-driven. A track record of measuring event performance through to pipeline, and using that data to decide where to show up and when to double down.

Other non-negotiables:

  • 3+ years owning B2B events end-to-end: conferences, trade shows, executive experiences, and customer community

  • Ability to travel 15-25% (a handful of major, in-person conferences; the rest coordinated from NYC office)

  • In person 5 days a week in our Flatiron office (when not traveling)

What we’d love to see

Enterprise event expertise: Experience supporting sales teams through high-touch event moments: executive dinners, partner programs, and on-site meetings at major conferences.

Accounting industry fluency: Familiarity with the accounting profession, industry associations like AICPA and state societies, and buyer personas across CPA firms.

Tools and systems: Proficiency in event management platforms and CRM systems, with an eagerness to use AI to make the events function more efficient.

What Success Looks Like

  • Pipeline impact: Events become a top-three source of qualified pipeline, with clear attribution from event engagement to closed revenue.

  • Operational scale: A repeatable, well-documented events playbook is in place that enables the team to 3x output without 3x effort.

Brand authority: Basis becomes synonymous with the future of AI in accounting through consistent delivery of high-impact owned events and conference activations
