Job Description:

SUMMARY:

PPC Manager – Material Planner/Buyer will be responsible for leading the supply chain group to effectively create and maintain an efficient production schedule that meets customer requirements ensuring material flow across supply chain to support the current and next month’s production plans, regulating the product mix, minimizing cycle times and effectively utilizing inventory.

RESPONSIBILITES & DUTIES:

Operational:

  • Lead the function to plan, develop, implement and evaluate processes for material flow from point-of-supply to point-of-use for the finished good/ product and also for the spares/ component and sub-component level parts required for completion of the final product.
  • Driving the equilibrium between Production and Inventory Planning in consultation with the Supply Operations division of the organization.
  • Develop a model to assess long term component requirements against different planning scenarios vis-a-vis capacity of the OEM in consultation with Suppliers Manager.
  • To understand, calculate and manage multiple risks (Domestic/ Global, Internal/ External) with respect to Material Planning to minimize the impact of material management on supply, sales & operations plan.
  • Identify the constraints of material management which affect production targets and take corrective actions in relation to Own the KPI of Inventory Turn Ratio and drive it across the organization.
  • Lead weekly/monthly Production Schedule meetings for regulating the product mix based on Runner – Repeater – Stranger models and share the rolling plan with all.
  • Liaise with Engineering, Purchasing, Manufacturing, Manufacturing Engineering, to manage the Engineering change implementation for existing model and hassle free introduction of new model. Ensure Zero Non-moving during changeover.
  • Liaise with Purchase, MIS, Finance for vendor process, product, commercial issue (PO, Logistics etc.)
  • Minimize exposure to excess and obsolete stock and ensure minimum financial liability.
  • Actively contribute to the development and support of material planning processes and benchmark against best practices in the industry.
  • Lead the engineering change implementation in Supply Chain function.
  • Lead the team for continuous improvements in sync with the Supply Chain Design group.
  • Understand the BOM – Material consumption as per BOM and for correct material accounting.
  • Carryout PIV for all factory and Vendor parts, Timely disposal of Rejections from Vendor and Factory.
  • Developing JIT supply using E- Kanban, Establishing Milk run supply etc.
  • Create weekly/monthly reports and KPIs.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • 5-8 years of experience in planning/scheduling in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience with Automotive components procurement and JIT supply
  • Knowledge with SAP will be preferable
  • Ability to thrive under pressure
