We're looking for a Social Media Advisor known at Ausnet as a “Customer Communications Officer” to help tell our story, support our customers and strengthen trust in one of Victoria's most essential services. In this role, you'll be responsible for end to end social media management and video content creation to help customers navigate everything from major outages and severe weather events to the energy transition shaping Australia's future.

Why this role?

You'll be at the centre of AusNet's customer communications function, taking ownership of our social media presence and creating content that reaches thousands of customers every day. From developing social media strategies and managing campaigns through to filming, editing and publishing video content, you'll play a critical role in how customers experience and engage with the AusNet brand.

You'll work across websites, social media, video, email, SMS and customer campaigns, helping to improve energy literacy, strengthen community engagement and deliver communications that make a genuine difference when customers need us most.

What you'll be doing in this role:

You'll partner with teams across the business to:

  • Manage AusNet's social media channels end-to-end, including content planning, content creation, publishing, monitoring and community engagement.
  • Develop and execute social media campaigns across Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and TikTok, driving awareness, engagement and customer education.
  • Create engaging video content from concept through to delivery, including filming, editing, production and publishing across digital channels.
  • Develop compelling digital content across social media, web, email, SMS and customer communication channels.
  • Translate technical and complex information into clear, engaging and accessible content for customers.
  • Monitor social media performance and use insights to continuously improve content effectiveness and audience engagement.
  • Support communications during significant network incidents, severe weather events and outages.
  • Help build trust, clarity and accessibility across every customer interaction.

You don’t need to check every box, however we’re looking for a good combination of: 

  • Demonstrated experience managing social media platforms end-to-end, including content creation, publishing and community management.
  • Strong video content creation skills, including filming, editing and producing content for digital and social channels.
  • Outstanding writing, editing and proofreading skills.
  • A passion for creating engaging digital content and customer-focused storytelling.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent organisation and project management abilities.
  • A proactive mindset and strong problem-solving capability.
