Reporting to the Franchise Head for Gastrointestinal (GI) Cancers ,  the Senior Marketing Manager (SMM) – GI Cancers will be a key leader in helping to build our GI cancer portfolio of indications and products into the standard of care for patients. The successful candidate for this role will be a strategic leader with a passion for customer engagement and putting patients first. You play to win but do the right thing and act with integrity, even when it is difficult. 

 

What you’ll do 

  • Lead the growth trajectory of indications within your tumour area(s) including developing and implementing brand strategies and fostering collaboration across functional areas (organizing individuals, activities, communications, and resources) to achieve business objectives in a timely manner for current and launch products.

  • Prepare and implement relevant customer activities and sales force content deployment, implementing campaigns with a consistent voice across channels. 

  • Build professional relationships with KEEs and establish strong brand endorsement and advocacy among related therapy area 

  • Develop strong relationships with counterparts across global markets to identify and leverage standard processes  

  • Conduct robust budget planning and operational financial management 

  • Monitor sales and business trends to spot potential opportunities and challenges and recommending strategies and tactics to address 

  • Lead and complete annual business strategic and execution plans as well as other business reviews 

  • Uphold a best-in-class commercial mindset to establish AstraZeneca as leaders in the GI cancer therapeutic area while cultivating an inclusive high-performance environment that values and leverages diversity 

  • Managing an intern direct report

Your role within this Oncology team will be to work collaboratively with the other Oncology SMMs and MMs to improve work and seek opportunities for learning and sharing new insights and doing things differently.  

 

Qualifications 

  • University degree in science and/or business 

  • Minimum of 5 years related pharmaceutical industry experience including marketing and sales and experience successfully leading a cross-functional team. 

  • Exceptional Business acumen: strong strategic thinking and planning skills with ability to implement plans with excellence 

  • Embraces an agile mindset to develop necessary processes to ensure consistent deliverables. Knows how to mobilize people and activities effectively to achieve impactful outcomes 

  • Experienced collaborator with inclusive leadership style and proven ability to work successfully within a diverse team 

  • You have strong learning agility and can adapt quickly in a fast paced environment 

  • Proven strong influencing skills and communication skills 

  • Financial acumen: capable of driving and managing budget responsibilities including spend optimization and trade-off decisions and inputting on forecast assumptions 

  • High self-awareness with the ability to build positive relationships using your strong people skills 

  • Experience working in an Alliance is an asset.

Annual base salary for this position ranges from 136,829.60 to 179,588.85.

AstraZeneca is committed to providing fair and equitable compensation opportunities to all colleagues. The range provided in this posting represents an offer pay range used in a majority of situations. The base pay offered will vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including the candidate's skills and experience, job-related knowledge, and other specific business and organizational needs.  In some cases, offers outside the range may also be considered to address unique circumstances.

In addition, our permanent positions offer an annual Variable Pay Bonus/Short Term Incentive opportunity as well as eligibility to participate in our equity-based long-term incentive program (if applicable to role).  Benefits offered for permanent roles include a competitive Flex Benefits & Retirement Savings Program, 4 weeks’ paid vacation, and annual Personal Days.
