Business Development Associate As a Business Development Associate, you will play a key role in driving Astranis’ global growth strategy. You will help identify, engage, and develop relationships with prospective customers across enterprise, government, and telecommunications markets worldwide. Sitting at the intersection of sales, marketing, finance, and solutions engineering, you’ll support high-priority commercial pursuits and build the top of Astranis’ future pipeline.This is a high-impact role with visibility across the commercial organization, ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and is motivated to make an impact.
Associate programs at Astranis typically last for a minimum of twelve weeks.
Role
- Identify and research high-potential prospective customers, partners, and markets to build Astranis’ commercial pipeline across new and existing geographies.
- Develop targeted outbound prospecting campaigns: including account research, personalized outreach, and follow-up—to create qualified sales opportunities.
- Support inbound commercial inquiries by conducting initial research, qualifying opportunities, and coordinating next steps with the appropriate internal teams.
- Conduct in-depth market and customer research to uncover connectivity needs, industry trends, competitive dynamics, and potential use cases for Astranis’ satellite internet and private-network solutions.
- Partner closely with Commercial, Solutions Engineering, and Finance teams to develop customer-specific materials, support discovery and diligence, and advance active opportunities through the sales process.
- Help prepare for and execute customer meetings, industry events, conferences, and executive engagements; translate conversations and leads into clear follow-up actions and pipeline opportunities.
- Maintain accurate prospect and opportunity information, track outreach performance, and surface insights that improve targeting, messaging, and pipeline development.
- Support strategic go-to-market initiatives, including account prioritization and analysis, market-entry planning, and competitive positioning.
- 1+ years of experience in business development, sales, consulting, market research, or a commercial role; experience in satellite communications, telecommunications, aerospace, or adjacent industries is a plus.
- Demonstrated interest in outbound prospecting, customer engagement, and building relationships with senior external stakeholders.
- Strong research, writing, presentation, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to turn complex technical and commercial concepts into compelling customer narratives.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple prospective opportunities and priorities in a fast-moving environment.
- Strong business judgment and curiosity, with an interest in understanding customers, markets, and the commercial drivers behind buying decisions.
- Comfortable working cross-functionally with technical and non-technical teams.
- Experience with CRM tools, Excel, and presentation software is a plus.
- Ability to work independently in a dynamic, fast-growing environment.
The base salary for this position is $1,750 per week.
