From the employer
PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
As a Science Communication Intern, you’ll sit at the heart of our science communication efforts, reporting to our Content Manager and helping plan, execute and continuously improve the production of content around Alice & Bob’s new scientific research and milestones.
Your mission: turn our research into content that is accessible and engaging without ever losing scientific accuracy. Too simple and it’s wrong; too precise and nobody reads it. You’ll find that fine line between the two, and deliver high-quality assets with great on-brand design that both a curious newcomer and a physicist can trust.
You’ll work with a range of people, from scientists who keep you accurate to creative partners and marketing colleagues who help make it engaging. We’re looking for someone with a passion for science communication, a penchant for great storytelling and design, and a strong appetite for making complex ideas simple. You take ownership, bring ideas, and care about delivering high-quality work.
Join us as we build the future of quantum computing.
The internship starts between January and March 2027 and lasts 6 months!
Responsibilities:
- Research to content: Turn research papers and results into different assets: blog posts, static visual explainers like infographics, and animations. Produce blog posts and write plans, using AI tools where relevant.
- Scientist interviews: Participate in meetings with scientists or subject matter experts, help prepare interviews on paper findings, and brief marketing colleagues afterwards.
- Videos & visuals: Work on scripts and storyboards for videos, and create briefs for illustrators, designers and other visual assets.
- Longer formats: Support longer formats such as reports and white papers.
- Landscape watch: Monitor the quantum computing landscape and suggest content ideas.
- Content planning: Help maintain our trackers and content planning tools for papers.
Requirements:
- Final-year Master’s student in Physics or a technical field with a desire to move into communications, or in Marketing, Communications or a related field with a strong interest in science and, ideally, a first experience in a deep tech or science startup or in communicating science or tech.
- Looking for a 6-month internship starting January–March 2027
