RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Write and edit copies for social media, digital campaigns, website, mobile application, e-mail and push notifications.
2. Write corporate collateral — brochures, fact sheets, corporate profiles, annual report narrative and presentation content.
3. Draft and edit passenger-facing communications, including disruption notices, service advisories and entitlement information, in coordination with Customer Experience.
4. Support the Lead, Internal/External & Stakeholder Relations with press releases, statements, speeches, talking points and formal correspondence.
5. Translate and adapt content between English and Bahasa Malaysia, ensuring equivalence of meaning and register rather than literal translation.
6. Maintain the AirBorneo tone-of-voice guide, house style sheet and approved terminology glossary.
7. Proofread all departmental output prior to publication, including artwork produced by the Designers and collateral produced for events.
8. Verify the factual accuracy of published claims — routes, schedules, fares, fleet and destination information — against authoritative internal sources.
9. Maintain a library of approved boilerplate, standard descriptions and pre-cleared holding language.
10. Ensure the correct rendering of honorifics, titles and place names in all formal and Government-facing material.
11. Other duties as assigned by the Lead, Social Media.
AUTHORITY
1. Authorized to determine wording, structure and register within the approved brief, tone-of-voice guide and house style.
2. Authorized to amend or return copy submitted by other departments that does not meet house style or accuracy standards.
3. Authorized to withhold copy from publication pending verification of factual claims.
4. NOT authorized to publish or release copy without the approval of the Lead, Social Media or, for corporate and Government-facing material, the Lead, Internal/External & Stakeholder Relations.
DELEGATION OF DUTIES
In the absence of the Copywriter, the Lead, Social Media shall assume responsibility for channel copy and proofreading, and the Lead, Internal/External & Stakeholder Relations shall assume responsibility for corporate and Government-facing written material.
Time-critical disruption notices and statement copy shall be referred directly to the Lead, Internal/External & Stakeholder Relations.
