Our Sales and Marketing Teams pursue excellence to ensure AGCO delivers industry-leading products and services efficiently and cost-effectively. We are seeking a Sales Manager Valtra, South Africa, based at the Johannesburg Office. The successful candidate will achieve agreed targets for net sales, gross margin, market share, order intake and dealer inventory; translate Valtra and AGCO strategies into market-specific actions; and continue building the current sustainable, high-performing dealer partnership. The role will strengthen Valtra’s premium brand position, expand market coverage, enhance the customer experience and coordinate sales, marketing, product, finance, aftersales and distribution-development activities to drive profitable, long-term regional growth. The Sales Manager will also ensure that all Valtra sales activities, dealer relationship, bids, commercial programmes and customer engagements comply with AGCO policies, delegated authorities, and applicable ethical and regulatory requirements.

Your Impact

  • Deliver Valtra’s South African net sales, gross margin, order intake, market share and dealer inventory targets in line with approved budgets and forecasts.
  • Build a strong sales pipeline and secure orders across markets, dealers, customer segments and Valtra product ranges.
  • Develop the annual South Africa sales plan, defining country priorities, product mix, pricing, campaigns and dealer commitments.
  • Prepare accurate rolling forecasts by country, model, specification and timing, considering demand, dealer stock, production availability and commercial risks.
  • Create annual business plans, monitor performance against budget and implement authorised corrective actions when required.
  • Manage sales performance in flow and non-flow territories in South Africa through customer monitoring, targeted sales and marketing actions, A&SP support, bids, quotations and direct order generation.
  • Develop the existing dealer network by setting clear targets per branch, coaching the sales teams, strengthening product positioning and improving opportunity and inventory management.
  • Build an effective dealer-to-order process, and represent Valtra and AGCO professionally at customer, dealer and industry engagements.

Your Experience and Qualifications

  • At least five years’ progressive sales experience managing dealers or key accounts across multiple markets.
  • Valtra specific background is advantageous.
  • Strong agricultural machinery or capital equipment experience, preferably involving tractors and premium brands.
  • Sound understanding of diverse market cultures and customer needs, supported by excellent written, verbal, presentation and cross-cultural communication skills.
  • Strong knowledge of Valtra tractors, customer applications, competing products and the agricultural equipment market.
  • Proven commercial and strategic ability to drive profitable growth through partnerships, value-based selling and pipeline management, with practical knowledge of shipping and payment processes, including letters of credit.
