What you'll do

  • Coordinate complete requirement packages so technology teams can build from clear, traceable inputs
  • Turn marketing operations needs into user stories, acceptance criteria, and developer-ready specifications
  • Support backlog grooming, sprint planning, release planning, and checks that delivered work meets requirements
  • Create UAT scenarios, run sessions with business users, and manage defects through resolution
  • Help move existing marketing workflows into the new platform and support training, documentation, and adoption

What you bring

  • Six to nine years in business analysis, product analysis, or a related role within financial services or another complex regulated industry
  • Experience with marketing operations or campaign management, including intake processes, execution workflows, and MarTech platforms such as Aprimo
  • A record of delivering workflow or digital product implementations and writing Agile requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria
  • Working knowledge of integrations, APIs, data flows, AI system behavior, Jira, UAT, and defect tracking
  • A bachelor's degree, with a master's degree or relevant Agile, BA, AI, or data science credentials as added value

Who this fits

You’ll suit work that combines careful analysis with independent execution, stakeholder diplomacy, and curiosity about AI, automation, and products still being defined. The role calls for comfort with ambiguity, close collaboration across Marketing, Technology, Risk, Legal, and Finance, and communication with both engineers and senior business partners. It is a full-time position with a primary location in New York, New York; remote applications may be considered for some listed locations.

From the employer

This role sits within the Marketing Operations team and is a key enabler of a significant product transformation initiative. The Business Analyst will work directly in support of the Product Owner to drive the delivery of an agentic, conversational AI-powered tool designed to modernize and streamline marketing campaign intake, requirements creation, and campaign execution workflows.
The successful candidate will serve as the connective tissue between business stakeholders and technology teams — translating marketing operational needs into precise, actionable requirements that fuel sprint-by-sprint delivery. This is a high-engagement role requiring someone who is equal parts rigorous analyst, collaborative partner, and detail-obsessed executor.
This role is ideal for a professional who thrives in ambiguity, brings genuine intellectual curiosity about emerging AI capabilities, and is motivated by the opportunity to help shape how marketing campaigns are conceived, scoped, and brought to life through cutting-edge technology. Because this product is novel in concept and execution, the ideal candidate brings not just analytical discipline but also the creative and adaptive thinking needed to define problems and solutions that don't yet have established playbooks.

Development Opportunities
● First-hand experience building and launching an enterprise-grade AI/agentic product from the ground up
● Deep cross-functional exposure spanning Marketing Operations, Technology, Risk, Legal, and Finance
● Opportunity to develop expertise at the intersection of MarTech, workflow automation, and conversational AI
● Visibility to senior leadership across marketing businesses and functions
● Long-term career paths across technology product and marketing operations domains

Key Responsibilities

Requirements & User Story Development

  • Own the end-to-end coordination of all requirement packages to be handed off to Technology, ensuring completeness, clarity, and traceability
  • Draft detailed technical requirements, well-structured user stories, and robust acceptance criteria for assigned workstreams
  • Translate complex business and marketing operational needs into unambiguous, developer-ready specifications
  • Proactively question and pressure-test requirements with stakeholders to surface gaps, edge cases, and unstated assumptions

Agile Delivery Support

  • Attend and actively contribute to all grooming sessions, ensuring backlog items are refined, estimated, and sprint-ready
  • Support sprint planning and release planning activities in close partnership with the Product Owner and Scrum Master
  • Review and sign off on sprint deliverables, validating that implemented features meet defined acceptance criteria
  • Track and communicate sprint readiness status and flag risks or blockers to the Product Owner in a timely manner

UAT & Quality Assurance

  • Draft comprehensive UAT scripts and test scenarios that reflect real-world user journeys and edge cases
  • Coordinate and facilitate UAT and usability testing sessions with business users and key stakeholders
  • Document, triage, and manage defect logs; work with Technology to drive resolution prior to release

Tool Migration & Change Management Support

  • Support the migration of existing marketing programs and workflows into the new agentic tool platform, ensuring continuity and accuracy of business processes
  • Contribute to the development of change management materials, training documentation, and user guides to enable smooth adoption
  • Assist in coordinating training sessions and communications for impacted business users

Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration

  • Partner closely with marketing operations, technology teams, and cross-functional stakeholders to gather, validate, and refine business requirements
  • Facilitate working sessions and workshops to drive alignment on scope, priorities, and solutions
  • Maintain clear, structured documentation of decisions, open items, and action registers

Qualifications

Experience

  • 6–9 years of experience in a Business Analyst, Product Analyst, or related role within financial services or a comparably complex regulated industry
  • Demonstrated experience in marketing operations or marketing campaign management environments, with a working understanding of campaign intake, execution workflows, and MarTech tools (e.g., Aprimo or comparable platforms)
  • Experience working on workflow tool implementations or digital product builds, preferably involving process digitization or automation
  • Proven track record of writing high-quality user stories, acceptance criteria, and functional requirements in an Agile/Scrum delivery model
  • Experience contributing to the build or launch of AI-powered, agentic, or conversational tools is highly desirable — including defining how AI interactions should behave, drafting prompt-adjacent logic flows, or writing requirements for ML/NLP-driven features
  • Experience working in environments where the product or process did not yet exist — where the candidate helped define the "what" and "how" from scratch rather than incrementally improving an established system

Technical & Functional Skills

  • Functional technical literacy sufficient to engage meaningfully with engineering teams; ability to understand system integrations, APIs, data flows, and AI/LLM-driven system behaviors at a conceptual level — or demonstrated ability to rapidly acquire such knowledge
  • Proficiency in Agile tools such as Jira for backlog management and sprint tracking
  • Strong capability in requirements documentation tools and productivity suite (Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Visio, Confluence or equivalent)
  • Experience with UAT planning and execution, including writing test scripts and managing defect tracking
  • Familiarity with workflow automation platforms or enterprise SaaS tools is a plus; hands-on experience with AI-powered, conversational, or agentic tools — either as a builder, analyst, or power user — is a strong differentiator
  • Comfort engaging with concepts such as prompt design, conversation flows, agent behaviors, and AI output validation even without a deep engineering background

Core Competencies

  • Critical thinking & analytical rigor: Ability to dissect ambiguous business problems and translate them into structured, precise requirements; comfortable challenging assumptions and asking the difficult questions to extract better information
  • Meticulous attention to detail: Maintains high engagement and work quality throughout repetitive, process-intensive tasks without sacrificing thoroughness
  • Independent working style: Able to take direction from the Product Owner and execute with limited hand-holding; self-manages workload and proactively identifies what needs to be done
  • First-principles thinking: Demonstrates the ability to step back from conventional approaches and reason from the ground up — particularly valuable when building products where no direct precedent exists; not constrained by "how things have always been done"
  • Intellectual curiosity & AI aptitude: Genuinely excited by the possibilities of AI and automation; stays informed on emerging capabilities and proactively considers how they could be applied to solve real business problems in new ways
  • Comfort with ambiguity: Thrives in environments where the answer is not obvious and the path must be co-created; able to make progress and produce quality work even when requirements are evolving
  • Stakeholder communication: Confident communicator who can engage effectively with both technical teams and senior business partners, adapting style and level of detail as appropriate
  • Collaboration & diplomacy: Skilled at working across cross-functional teams including Marketing, Technology, Risk, Legal, and Finance to build consensus and drive outcomes
  • Composure under pressure: Demonstrates resilience and focus in a fast-paced, matrixed environment with shifting priorities and tight timelines

Education

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred
  • Agile or BA certifications (e.g., CBAP, PMI-PBA, CSM, or equivalent) are a plus
  • Coursework, certifications, or self-directed learning in AI/ML fundamentals, prompt engineering, or data science concepts is a differentiating plus
