The Events Specialist / Sr Specialist, Sports Marketing - A&F is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing all Sports-related events that elevate our brand, engage our audience, and support our overall marketing and business objectives within our Sports communities. This role is highly collaborative with internal cross-functional teams and external partners and agencies to make activations come to life. While this role technically sits within the world of sport, the ideal candidate for this position has a passion for fashion and its role in culture, with a strong interest in how sport & fashion intersect to shape consumer behavior and brand relevance.
This job is located at our Global Home Office in Columbus, Ohio.
What Will You Be Doing?
- Plan, coordinate, and execute all A&F Sports events to drive customer engagement and brand awareness
- Collaborate with internal Talent, PR, Social, Creative, Product, Visual, Stores, Asset Protection, Legal teams – to ensure seamless integration of events and activations
- Collaborate with internal marketing channel leads to ensure events are properly promoted and/or extended beyond the life of the event
- Collaborate with internal Brand Strategy team to ensure sport events reflect the overarching Brand expression
- Manage external agency partners in strategy and execution of campaigns and events.
- Collaborate with external agency to manage external vendor relationships, venue sourcing, contracts, and logistics for both in-person and virtual events.
- Pattern other brand’s events & IRL activations within and outside of Sports and Athlete communities and bring relevant learnings back to the team .
- Develop comprehensive project timelines, event briefs, and post-event recaps
- Build event planning documents (run of show, Call sheets, etc.)
- Track KPIs and event performance metrics to evaluate success
- Actively incorporate learnings and performance hindsights into the next event.
- Maintain continuous feedback loop with agency and partners.
- Build and manage event budget in partnership with Brand Marketing teams, ensuring events are delivered within scope
- Stay current with fashion industry trends, identifying new event ideas and tactics that align with brand objectives. Works to develop new and unique ways to authentically get in front of core demographic via activations.
What Do You Need To Bring?
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or related field, or related experience
- 4+ years of experience in Marketing and Events, with fashion experience preferred
- Proven success managing events from concept to execution
- Deep passion for fashion, style, and consumer culture, with an interest & understanding of the trends, brands, and cultural moments shaping the industry
- An interest in sports & the sports media landscape
- Strong project management skills with the ability to juggle multiple high-profile campaigns simultaneously
- Strong inter-departmental coordination skills High attention to detail, organization, and time management
- Experience in a fast paced, multi-channel retail environment is a preferred Highly motivated, with the ability to thrive in a fluid and demanding environment
