From the employer

About Watershed

Watershed is the enterprise sustainability platform. Companies like Airbnb, Carlyle Group, FedEx, Visa, and Dr. Martens use Watershed to manage climate and ESG data, produce audit-ready metrics for voluntary and regulatory reporting including CSRD, and drive real decarbonization. We are looking for team members who love product-building, want to work hard at a mission-oriented startup, and will collaborate with us in shaping the culture of a growing team.

We have offices in San Francisco, New York, Denver, London, Paris, Berlin, Sydney, Mexico City, and remote team members across the US and Europe. We hope that you'll be interested in joining us!

The role

As a Content marketer at Watershed, you'll own the brand and educational content that show how our platform drives climate outcomes for customers—including through longform content for demand generation, webinar programming, and short-form content for awareness. You'll work closely with our Head of Content Strategy to plan, produce, and distribute content across formats, and you'll run the operational side of content: a tracking system and reporting practice that keeps the team's output on schedule and visible.

You will:

  • Write longform demand-gen content based on interviews with internal experts and customers, webinar recordings, and internal documentation like policy guides

  • Own social content and strategy: Write posts and create multi-media assets for Linkedin that highlights Watershed's work, customers, and team, including developing an employee activation strategy for LinkedIn

  • Write content optimized for search through SEO and AEO

  • Write all supporting copy to promote core assets across key channels

  • Repurpose longform and case study content into short-form social and blog posts

  • Build and maintain a content tracking system covering customer stories, social, longform gated assets, and blog posts, reviewed weekly with the Head of Content Strategy

  • Track and report on content performance with the Head of Content Strategy

  • Create and edit multimedia content, primarily audio and video

In any given month, the types of projects you'll work on may include:

  • Developing a longform piece built for demand gen

  • Writing copy for an interactive web asset

  • Creating a batch of social posts in a variety of formats repurposed from source content

  • Updating the content tracker on a weekly basis or giving a performance readout on content performance

  • Writing interview questions for a panel discussion on a webinar

You might be a fit if you have:

  • Experience creating and maintaining a social presence for a B2B company

  • Strong longform and shortform writing skills, with experience translating interviews, webinar recordings, or technical documentation into demand-gen content

  • Basic video and audio editing skills

  • Experience repurposing longform content into social and blog formats

  • Comfort owning a content calendar or tracking system and reporting on its performance

  • Project management skills to coordinate interviews and reviews across multiple stakeholders—subject matter experts., customers, and leadership

  • Comfort responsibly using artificial intelligence in your workflows, with an interest in learning and building agentic workflows to support content production

  • While not required for this role, experience with sustainability is a plus

Must be willing to work from an office 4 days per week (except for remote roles)

Watershed has hub offices in San Francisco, New York, London, and Mexico City and satellite offices in Denver, Sydney, Paris, and Berlin. Certain jobs are open to being remote and will be specifically noted on the jobs page and in the job description if so.

What’s the interview process like?

It starts the same for every candidate: getting to know the team members through 1 to 2 conversations about Watershed, your experience, and your interests. Next steps can vary by role, but usual next steps are a skill or experience interview (e.g. a coding interview for an engineer, a portfolio review for a designer, deeper experience call for other roles) which leads to a virtual or in person interview panel. We prioritize transparency and lack of surprise throughout the process.

What if I need accommodations for my interview?

At Watershed, we are dedicated to ensuring an inclusive recruitment process. We provide reasonable accommodations for candidates with disabilities, long-term conditions, mental health needs, religious observances, neurodivergence, or pregnancy-related support requirements. If you need assistance during your process, please contact your recruiter.
