About the Role
WatchGuard Technologies is looking for a Communications Specialist to help scale our internal and external communications with executives, employees, media, and partners.
This role sits at the center of executive communications, external communications, and internal engagement. You’ll work closely with senior leadership, including the CEO, to ensure messaging is clear, consistent, and impactful, while also helping drive a strong, connected culture within our Seattle headquarters.
This is a hands-on role for someone who can move fast, manage multiple stakeholders, and bring structure and creativity to how communications get done, ideally with an AI-first mindset. Excellent opportunity for someone wanting to grow their experience across internal, external, and executive comms.
What You’ll Do
- Executive & Leadership Communications
• Support CEO and executive communications, including messaging, social content, speaking opportunities, and event prep
• Partner with leadership to develop authentic, high-impact LinkedIn and external content
• Coordinate logistics and messaging for executive participation in media and industry engagements
Internal Communications & Employee Engagement
• Manage and execute company-wide town halls in partnership with executive leadership
• Own internal communications cadence (announcements, updates, storytelling, events)
• Lead employee engagement initiatives, including internal awards and recognition programs
• Help shape and maintain a strong, connected office culture within the Seattle HQ
• Plan and execute Employee Advocacy activities that increase brand awareness PR & Corporate Communications Support
• Support PR and other Comms activities where Seattle-based executive coordination is required
• Help manage award submissions and track recognition opportunities
• Assist with press materials, briefing prep, and general communications operations for key Seattle-based executives
Content Development
• Support ongoing content creation for key executives and leaders (e.g., blogs, social posts, podcasts, thought leadership)
• Ensure messaging aligns with WatchGuard’s brand voice and strategic priorities
• Identify creative ways to leverage content in executive communications
Operational Excellence & AI-First Approach
• Bring structure to communications workflows, calendars, and processes
• Leverage AI tools to increase speed, quality, and scale of content and communications
• Continuously identify ways to improve efficiency and impact across comms efforts
What You Bring
- • 5+ years of experience in communications, PR, corporate comms, or related field
• Strong writing and editing skills across formats (executive voice, social, internal, PR)
• Demonstrated use of AI tools (e.g., for content creation, workflow automation, or research)
• Experience supporting senior executives or leadership teams
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment
• Strong organizational and project management skills
• Experience with internal communications and employee engagement initiatives
• Familiarity with PR and analyst relations workflows
• Comfort working in-person with executives in a Seattle-based office environment
Bonus
- • Experience in cybersecurity, B2B tech, or working with MSP/channel audiences
