Our client is an established online children’s boutique and toy store that has been successfully operating for around 15 years. They cater to a diverse client base, including parents, grandparents, schools, preschools, and allied health professionals.
They are now seeking to hire an eCommerce Shopify Assistant to manage and update product listings across their online stores. This role is vital for maintaining clean product data, optimising website presentation, and providing top-tier customer email and chat support.
Job Responsibilities
- Manage and update product listings within Shopify across two online stores
- Clean and standardise product data, including weights, descriptions, images, and variants
- Create and optimise product listings with accurate meta titles and descriptions
- Prepare and execute bulk product uploads via spreadsheets and CSV files
- Support ongoing product uploads from new supplier inventory and liaise with suppliers for details
- Identify and resolve duplicate or inconsistent listings across both websites
- Respond to customer emails and handle online chat support within required timeframes
- Resize and optimise product images for website use while creating SEO-friendly alt text
- Monitor website listings for errors, missing information, or out-of-stock issues
- Assist with category organisation, website merchandising, and seasonal product updates
- Upload and organise invoices or stock documentation
- Assist with basic competitor and pricing research alongside general eCommerce tasks
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience using Shopify in a similar eCommerce role
- Strong attention to detail and consistency in product formatting
- Excellent written and verbal English skills with a warm, friendly communication style
- Intermediate proficiency using spreadsheets and managing CSV files for bulk data uploads
- Basic understanding of SEO principles including meta descriptions and image alt tags
- Experience with Canva or basic image editing tools for resizing and website optimisation
- Ability to work independently, follow established procedures, and show a collaborative attitude
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Experience working with children's retail, boutique, or toy brands
- Prior experience utilizing ChatGPT or AI tools for content assistance
- Experience managing multi-store Shopify environments
