About the opportunity 

Are you a strategic marketing professional with a passion for the arts and the vision to grow audiences and build meaningful engagement? The Seymour Centre is looking for an engaging and forward-thinking Marketing Manager to drive audience growth, strengthen brand engagement and shape the future of our marketing, ticketing and CRM functions.

Working across one of Australia's leading performing arts venues, you'll play a key role in connecting audiences with a diverse and vibrant artistic program. You'll identify opportunities for growth, influence strategic decision-making and help ensure the Seymour Centre remains at the forefront of arts and entertainment marketing.

Reporting to the Artistic Director, you will lead a team of four and oversee the delivery of innovative marketing strategies, audience development initiatives, and the Centre's ticketing and customer relationship management operations.

This role suits a commercially minded leader who can balance long-term strategy with hands-on delivery, build strong stakeholder relationships and thrive in a fast-paced environment where priorities can shift quickly.

This is a full-time position working 38 hours per week. Given the nature of the performing arts industry, evening and weekend work will be required to support performances, opening nights and special events.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategic marketing and audience development plans.

  • Lead integrated campaigns across digital, social, media, partnerships and traditional channels.

  • Manage and strengthen the Seymour Centre brand and audience engagement strategy.

  • Oversee marketing budgets, reporting and campaign performance.

  • Lead, mentor and develop a high-performing marketing, box office and ticketing team.

  • Drive the effective use of ticketing and CRM systems to maximise audience engagement and revenue opportunities.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with artists, producers, venue hirers, industry partners and stakeholders.

  • Analyse audience insights, industry trends and campaign performance to inform future strategy and decision-making.

About you

  • Extensive marketing experience within the arts, entertainment or live events industry.

  • Strong strategic marketing capability with the ability to see the bigger picture and translate ideas into action.

  • Proven experience developing and delivering successful integrated marketing campaigns.

  • Outstanding leadership skills and experience managing and developing teams.

  • Confidence in making decisions, solving problems and driving initiatives independently.

  • A forward-thinking approach with the ability to identify opportunities and embrace innovation.

  • A flexible and adaptable mindset, with the ability to respond effectively to changing priorities and operational demands.

  • Experience using ticketing and CRM systems to enhance audience engagement and customer experience.
