Who this fits
You’ll fit this role if you can combine corporate communications, digital channel ownership, clear writing, and employee engagement. The schedule is Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm, with four office days in Wyoming, MI and one remote day. Position Summary:
The Communications Specialist develops, produces, edits, curates and publishes a wide variety of communications, with a focus on digital tools and story telling, supporting the overall company objectives and corporate communications strategies and goals. They will communicate in a way that fosters comprehension and engagement and creates a user-friendly experience.
What you will do:
Primary responsibility for managing, maintaining and moderating the company intranet.
Design and execute communication plans and programs In consultation with communication and cross functional colleagues
Responsible for the daily management of content and campaigns to engage employees
Review digital channel analytics and propose best practices or improvement ideas
Work with content creators outside the function to help educate and enable them to self-serve on digital channels where relevant and applicable
Responsible for content, adoption, and process creation where needed, along with ongoing support and continuous improvement across enterprise digital channels
Create consistent, compelling, on-brand messaging across all communication channels through visual and new media methods.
Draft and circulate external communications (e.g. press releases or social media content) in support of campaigns
Plan and organize special events in support of company initiatives and attend to provide support and/or act as the main company representative
Perform other duties as assigned.
When you will work:
Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm
Hybrid schedule: 4 days in the office in Wyoming, MI, with 1 day remote
What you'll bring to the table:
Bachelor’s Degree in English, Business, Communication or related field required.
Three to five years of experience with corporate communication/internal communication projects, or an equivalent combination of education, professional experience and training required.
Must have strong communication skills, including writing, editing, presentation and interpersonal communications.
Must have critical thinking skills and the ability to flex and adapt to dynamic business conditions and changing technologies
Must be skilled in using a variety of communication channels including Intranet/web applications (Google Apps experience a plus), email messaging, print media and digital media.
Must understand the structure and content of the English language, including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, grammar, and style.
Must keep current with communication strategies, technologies and techniques to understand applicability to GFS.
