Job Description

Inspire, excel and grow with us

The Vice President, Head of Client Onboarding & Data will establish and lead a centralized onboarding and reference-data capability for the broker-dealer. The role owns the operational onboarding lifecycle from initial business handoff through account readiness, including client/account setup, security setup, static and reference data, and data-quality governance. This leader will build a scalable operating model that supports new business growth while strengthening controls, transparency, accountability, and the client experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and lead the broker-dealer Client Onboarding & Data function, including team structure, procedures, service standards, controls, metrics, and escalation protocols.
  • Own the operational onboarding lifecycle and coordinate readiness across Front Office, Operations, Legal, Compliance, Risk, Finance, Technology, and other control partners.
  • Oversee client and account setup, security setup, standing/static data, account-master and security-master activities, and associated data-quality controls.
  • Create a single, disciplined intake and tracking process for new clients, accounts, products, and business initiatives, with clear ownership, dependencies, status reporting, and escalation.
  • Partner with KYC/AML and other control functions to ensure required approvals and documentation are completed before operational activation; this role coordinates operational readiness and does not replace independent compliance ownership.
  • Establish maker/checker controls, data validation, reconciliations, exception management, and periodic certification of critical onboarding and reference data.
  • Develop service-level expectations and management reporting covering onboarding volumes, aging, cycle time, exceptions, defects, capacity, and key risk indicators.
  • Lead onboarding readiness for strategic growth initiatives, new products, new desks, and platform conversions, including requirements, testing, implementation, and post-launch stabilization.
  • Drive automation and workflow improvements across account master, security master, data warehouse, and related onboarding tools to reduce manual touchpoints and improve scalability.
  • Act as senior escalation point for complex onboarding issues and ensure root-cause remediation of recurring defects.
  • Recruit, coach, and develop a high-performing team with strong product knowledge, control discipline, and client-service orientation.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8+ years of relevant experience in broker-dealer, capital markets, securities operations, client onboarding, reference/static data, or a closely related function.

Preferred Skills/Experience

  • Demonstrated experience leading teams and managing complex, cross-functional operational processes.
  • Strong understanding of broker-dealer operating environments, trade lifecycle dependencies, account structures, reference data, and operational controls.
  • Experience designing procedures, controls, metrics, governance, and escalation frameworks.
  • Experience building or materially transforming a client onboarding, account master, security master, or reference-data function.
  • Experience supporting institutional fixed income and/or equities businesses and new-product launches.
  • Experience with workflow, data-governance, or onboarding platforms and with UAT/conversion activity.
  • FINRA registration(s) relevant to assigned supervisory responsibilities, or ability to obtain if required by the position.
  • Strong executive communication, stakeholder management, and change-leadership skills.
