The University of Miami, School of Communication, has an exciting opportunity for a temporary part time Communications Coordinator to work in Coral Gables, FL.
The Documentary Video Editor is responsible for transforming hours of raw documentary footage into a compelling, cohesive, and professionally finished film. The position works closely with the director/producer.
The editor also performs color correction and grading to ensure consistency in exposure, color balance, skin tones, and overall visual style across footage captured under varying conditions and with different cameras. This skill is essential to delivering a technically polished documentary suitable for film festival exhibition and other professional distribution.
Department Specific Functions:
- The Documentary Film Editor will assist documentary directors/producers in editing raw documentary footage on professional editing equipment such as AVID.

Core Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant field required or MFA in Motion Picture Production
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience required

- Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively with others and contribute to a team environment.
- Technical Proficiency: Skilled in using office software, technology, and relevant computer applications.
