  • Build and validate infrastructure yourself, including servers, virtualisation, storage, networks, databases and recovery components
  • Control production changes with testing, approvals, documentation and rollback plans, and assess readiness before deployment decisions
  • Guide implementation engineers, resolve escalations and work with QA to prepare environments for testing and customer acceptance
  • Track delivery risks and technical status, contribute implementation details to bids, and prepare stable systems for operational handover

What you bring

  • Hands-on experience building, configuring, troubleshooting and validating enterprise infrastructure in customer environments
  • Practical knowledge across several listed areas, such as Windows or Linux, virtualisation, storage, databases, networking, backup or disaster recovery

You need a valid passport, the ability to obtain required visas, and legal permission to work in your location.

From the employer

ABOUT US

At TOPPAN Security, our mission is to shape a meaningful, technology-driven future by being a global leader in mission-critical identity and payment technologies.

As the international development arm of the TOPPAN Group in the security domain, we build on a trusted Japanese heritage dating back to 1900. We combine deep sector expertise, bold ideas and collaborative intelligence to deliver secure, future-ready solutions.

Our culture is grounded in four values: Agility, Ownership, Resilience, and a Sense of Fun.

About the role and what you’ll do

As a Senior Technical Implementation Lead, you will play a key role in delivering secure identity and national identity solutions for government customers worldwide.

This is a senior, hands-on technical delivery role covering staging, deployment, configuration, commissioning, troubleshooting and operational handover of complex customer solutions. You will translate approved technical designs into controlled implementation plans and ensure solutions are deployed safely and in line with project, quality, security and change-control requirements.

You will provide technical leadership while remaining directly involved in implementation and validation. Working closely with Project Managers, architects, Development, QA, Support, customers and third-party suppliers, you will help ensure successful delivery from preparation through to operational handover.

Key responsibilities
  • Lead implementation of complex secure identity and national identity solutions across customer environments.

  • Plan and coordinate staging, installation, configuration, deployment and commissioning activities.

  • Translate approved technical designs into clear implementation plans, work packages and deployment activities.

  • Personally build, configure, troubleshoot and validate infrastructure where required.

  • Deploy and support Windows/Linux servers, virtualisation, storage, networking, databases, backup and recovery components.

  • Ensure implementation activities meet project milestones, quality standards and customer requirements.

  • Provide technical direction and day-to-day leadership to implementation engineers and act as a technical escalation point.

  • Ensure production changes are planned, tested, documented, approved and supported by appropriate rollback and recovery procedures.

  • Lead deployment-readiness reviews and provide technical input to implementation go/no-go decisions.

  • Identify and manage technical, operational and security risks, dependencies and deployment constraints.

  • Ensure solutions are stable, documented and supportable before handover, including monitoring, backup, recovery, failover and maintenance readiness.

  • Work with QA to ensure environments are ready for testing and customer acceptance.

  • Maintain implementation records, technical documentation and knowledge-transfer materials.

  • Mentor implementation engineers and promote consistent implementation and documentation standards.

  • Work directly with customers and suppliers, communicating technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Present technical status, risks, options and recommendations to relevant stakeholders.

  • Provide technical input to bids, proposals and change requests, including delivery approaches, infrastructure assumptions, effort and risks.

  • Challenge incomplete, untested or unsupported approaches and escalate delivery, security, quality or operational-readiness concerns

This is not a purely coordination or project-management role. The successful candidate must remain technically hands-on and contribute directly to implementation, troubleshooting and validation. The role implements approved designs rather than owning overall solution architecture or product design.

About you

You are an experienced infrastructure and implementation professional who combines strong technical expertise with the ability to lead complex deployments and work confidently with customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders.

You take ownership of implementation outcomes, identify risks early, challenge approaches where necessary and develop practical solutions to complex technical problems.

  • Experience with business-critical on-premises or hybrid infrastructure.

  • Experience managing technical risks, dependencies and controlled production changes.

  • Experience working with Project Managers, technical teams, customers and third-party suppliers.

  • Strong technical documentation and implementation-planning skills.

  • Confidence communicating with senior stakeholders and explaining technical matters to technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Experience leading or mentoring engineers.

  • A proactive, accountable and collaborative approach, with a strong focus on quality, security and continuous improvement.
