From the employer

About the Organization

TAAF serves the Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) community by promoting safety, fostering belonging, and advancing prosperity. Launched in 2021 in response to the rise in anti-Asian hate and to address the long-standing underinvestment in AAPI communities by building safety and economic prosperity in cities, advocating for the teaching of AAPI history in classrooms, advancing decision makers and creatives in Hollywood and journalism, ensuring that we are represented across all levels of leadership, and conducting research to inform our communities. About the Role

TAAF believes in the power of awareness, conversation, and storytelling to advance our mission of serving the Asian American and Pacific Islander community in its pursuit of belonging and prosperity free from discrimination, slander, and violence.

We are looking for a curious, passionate, and strategic Senior Graphic Designer to support the evolution of TAAF's visual brand. As a senior creative thought partner, this person will help to shape the visual direction of our most visible campaigns, initiatives, and events, while serving as a steward of the TAAF brand, ensuring excellence, consistency, and cohesion across every touchpoint. From designing owned social content and integrated digital and print campaigns to developing new visual identities for programs, events, and research initiatives, this role balances high-level creative concepting with hands-on execution in close partnership with the Deputy Director of Brand & Creative.

This role is highly collaborative, partnering across the Communications & Marketing team and with teams throughout the organization to bring ideas to life through thoughtful, impactful design. As TAAF continues to grow, we're excited for this creative leader to help define, elevate, and scale our brand, ensuring our visual identity reflects the ambition of our mission and resonates with the communities we serve.

Responsibilities

  • Translate TAAF’s brand identity into cohesive, impactful visual systems that express the organization’s mission across digital, experiential, and organizational touchpoints.
  • Own and update TAAF’s brand materials including brand guidelines, marketing collateral, and design systems.
  • Partner with the Deputy Director of Brand & Creative and cross-functional teams to develop and execute creative strategies that support organizational priorities, campaigns, programs, and events.
  • Support the creative development of new initiatives—including research reports, events, campaigns, and programs—by creating distinct visual identities, inclusive of logos, typography systems, graphic elements, and supporting brand assets.
  • Occasionally present creative concepts to executive leadership and stakeholders, incorporating feedback while maintaining design integrity and brand consistency.
  • Design and execute integrated marketing assets across digital and print channels, including social media, email marketing, websites, reports, presentations, one-pagers, and fundraising materials.
  • Help lead the visual design and brand expression for TAAF's flagship events, including the 1,000+ attendee TAAF Summit, as well as donor events, convenings, and community activations. Responsibilities include environmental graphics, stage design, event collateral, signage, presentations, and attendee-facing materials. Knowledge of designing and preparing print files is crucial.
  • Create compelling visual communications and assets for TAAF's core programs, including TALA, AAPI History Hub, TAAF Cities, and other strategic initiatives.
  • Develop motion graphics, animations, and dynamic visual content that enhance storytelling and audience engagement.
  • Ensure creative excellence and consistency across all brand touchpoints while maintaining high standards for typography, layout, accessibility, and user experience.
  • Manage external creative partners, freelancers, and production vendors on a project-by-project basis
  • Support and improve creative operations, including project workflows, asset management, version control, production timelines, and approval processes.
  • Stay informed on design trends, emerging technologies, and nonprofit marketing best practices to continuously elevate TAAF's creative output.
