The pay range is $95,000.00 - $171,000.00

As a member of the Guest Marketing Strategy team, you will play a critical role in shaping consumer-led marketing strategies that strengthen Target’s relevance and connection with guests.


As Senior Marketing Manager, you will be responsible for connecting consumer insights, cultural trends, business priorities, and performance signals into clear marketing strategies and recommendations. You will help translate complex inputs into a strong consumer point of view that informs integrated marketing plans, creative development, and channel execution.


You will partner across Marketing, Creative, Digital, Social, Media, Loyalty, Merchandising, Insights, and other cross-functional teams to develop strategies that address consumer needs while advancing business priorities. You will translate consumer and cultural insights into clear strategic direction, compelling briefs, and connected marketing plans.


Success in this role requires strong strategic thinking, consumer curiosity, cultural fluency, storytelling, analytical skills, and the ability to influence and build alignment across a broad set of partners.

  • Translate insights and business opportunities into clear strategic recommendations, briefs, and integrated marketing plans.
  • Identify relevant consumer and cultural opportunities that strengthen Target’s connection with guests.
  • Partner across Marketing, Creative, Digital, Social, Media, Loyalty, Merchandising, Insights, and other teams to drive alignment and execution.
  • Develop clear points of view and decision-making frameworks that help teams prioritize opportunities and make informed marketing decisions.
  • Translate campaign performance, consumer response, and marketplace learnings into actionable recommendations that improve future strategies.
  • Simplify complex inputs and use compelling storytelling to influence partners and senior leaders.
  • Lead cross-functional work with accountability, sound judgment, and a focus on delivering business and guest outcomes.

About you

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years of experience in marketing strategy, brand strategy, consumer strategy, integrated marketing, or a related field.
  • Strong ability to translate consumer insights, business priorities, cultural signals, and performance data into clear marketing strategies and recommendations.
  • Strong strategic thinking, writing, and storytelling skills with the ability to develop and advocate for a clear point of view.
  • Ability to synthesize complex information, connect dots across multiple inputs, and influence decision-making.
  • Strong creative and analytical instincts with experience partnering across multiple marketing disciplines.
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships and influence cross-functional partners and senior leaders.
  • Ability to operate with speed, accountability, and sound judgment while navigating ambiguity and multiple priorities.
