Ipswich Borough Council is looking for a Marketing Business Partner.
As part of the marketing and communications team this post plays a key role in helping to raise the profile and awareness of the council’s services and brands through the implementation and coordination of a range of web and digital activities.
Key responsibilities included coordinating and delivering marketing campaigns from planning through to implementation, creating and managing marketing content and assets across digital and traditional channels, monitoring campaign performance against business targets, and producing reports using data and market insights to evaluate success.
The role also involved identifying opportunities to maximise audience reach, supporting business growth through targeted marketing activity, maintaining accurate records, and working closely with internal teams and stakeholders to ensure the effective promotion of products, services and brands.
The role is contracted at 37 hours per week and requires a flexible approach to working hours to support evening and weekend events when necessary. While the post is primarily based at Grafton House, occasional travel is required to attend events and promotional activities across the borough and wider area, ensuring effective delivery of campaigns, stakeholder engagement and on-the-ground support for key projects and initiatives.
You will be able to combine strategic thinking with the practical delivery of marketing activity, balancing long-term objectives with day-to-day operational priorities.
You will be a proactive and self-motivated individual who can deliver results both independently and through influencing colleagues and stakeholders. The role requires a strong understanding of traditional, digital and content marketing. Candidates should hold a relevant marketing qualification or be able to demonstrate equivalent professional experience. You will possess excellent creative judgement, strong problem-solving abilities and a keen eye for detail, with the capability to organise and prioritise a varied workload effectively.
Hours of work are 37 per week, Monday to Friday.
The post holder will be required to work a shift pattern, including evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays.
Hours are 9am – 5pm per week and will be worked on a shift rota basis Monday to Sunday including Bank Holidays.
This post is offered on a fixed term basis to Oct 2027.
This is a hybrid working role (a minimum of 1 day per week working in the office). This is a full office/location-based role.
