Overview
The Marketing & Communications Co-op will support the Department's mission to promote financial literacy and consumer awareness by assisting in the development, distribution, and promotion of educational and fraud prevention materials. The individual in this role will work collaboratively with DFR's Education and Outreach teams and the Department's Public Information and Outreach Coordinator to strengthen public understanding of DFR's role and available resources.
This is a temporary position. Temporary work is typically for variable hours, duration 4 to 6 months and a minimum of 32 hours of work per week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the creation and dissemination of digital and print content to promote financial literacy and consumer protection initiatives.
- Support communication efforts across multiple platforms, including the DFR website, newsletters, and social media.
- Collaborate with DFR staff to plan and promote educational events and outreach campaigns.
- Contribute to the development of communication strategies that enhance statewide awareness of DFR's resources and consumer protection work.
- Assist in analyzing engagement data to inform future outreach efforts.
Qualifications:
- Current undergraduate student pursuing a degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related discipline.
- Strong writing, editing, and digital communication skills.
- Familiarity with social media platforms, digital marketing tools, and content management systems.
- Attention to detail, creativity, and an interest in public service and consumer education.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and manage multiple projects.
