Department:

The Mississippi Lab serves as a humanities laboratory for the university, the state, and the region. Three projects – Greenfield Farm Writers Residency, Staff Creative Residencies, and Faculty Laureates – drive creative enterprise and content production, spanning disciplines, demographics, and geographies. Greenfield Farm Writers Residency, the newest of these projects, is set to open in late 2027 on the site of William Faulkner’s onetime mule farm.

Job Summary:

Researches, designs, and implements marketing and public relations strategies that further departmental goals and amplify departmental communications

Job Description:

  • Researches, develops and grows marketing and public relations plans based on research and departmental goals
  • Develops, implements, and disseminates public relations and marketing materials through a wide variety of communication mediums utilizing appropriate technologies and techniques
  • Identifies and exploits pathways of communication with the audiences we serve
  • Edits and polishes the marketing and communications work of outside collaborators
  • Establishes and maintains the tenor and aesthetics of departmental communications
  • Leverages narrative techniques to inspire actions in consumers of departmental communications
