As the External Communications Marketing Manager, you’ll be supporting the development and execution of communications strategies for corporate and retailer initiatives. What You’ll Do:

  • Support the Director, External Communications in strategy, planning and execution of Comms tactics supporting a variety of retailer programming objectives to maximize earned media coverage and grow retailer sentiment.
  • Support the team to develop media strategies and a supporting calendar, execute accordingly, laddering into the larger goal of growing awareness and retailer sentiment.
  • Plan and manage the speaking and interview engagements for brand spokespeople including but not limited to executive leadership, merchandising, marketing ambassadors, and more.
  • Lead our proprietary storytelling tools and calendarized moments including our newsroom, white papers (LinkedIn Voices, etc.) leadership profiles and development of new Sephora led-stage programming.
  • In partnership with the Director, help lead day-to-day management of the US external communications agencies, providing direction and overseeing execution of press outreach and activities for company and brand initiatives.
  • Liaise with relevant cross functional partners to evaluate, plan and coordinate upcoming program focuses, outputs and relevant updates.
  • Support the Director with issues management including response planning and as issues arise by acting as a participating partner of the Reputation Comms Lead team including our agency and cross functional partners.
  • Operate as the lead contact for Internal comms, including briefing and aligning announcement programming, business and best practices share outs, and sharing Sephora news for a variety of internal audiences.
  • Help coordinate and execute relevant cross functional, monthly, and quarterly reporting.
  • Maintain composure, problem solve, and partner with both internal and external groups to ensure the retailer and brand is represented according to our values in all situations.
  • Assist in managing the Public Relations budget, calendar, and marketing task list with ease.

What You’ll Bring:

  • 5+ years experience in public relation, in-house or agency
  • Excellent communication skills (written, oral, and interpersonal), with a keen understanding of press relations and how to balance messaging and company priorities as a spokesperson
  • Strong presentation capabilities, can communicate upward and laterally, informing partners well and with ease
  • Strong critical thinking capabilities and ability to partner with other groups
  • Effective organizational and time management skills, can juggle many projects at once
  • Independent thinker, values the capabilities and work quality of a team, has a strong understanding of internal and external clients and needs/priorities
  • Self-starter, action-oriented, resourceful, can take a project or program from start to completion
  • Charisma, thinks on the fly, can balance personality and professional perspective with business objectives and priorities
  • Thrives in an environment with a large amount of public exposure and a diverse range of personalities and opinions
  • Understanding of retail cosmetics and passion for beauty and client experience
  • Elevated computer and social media skills.

What You’ll Get:

The annual base salary range for this position is $114,750.00 - $128,250.00 The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include, as applicable, the applicant’s qualifications for the position; years of relevant experience; specific and unique skills; level of education attained; certifications or other professional licenses held; other legitimate, non-discriminatory business factors specific to the position; and the geographic location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will perform the job. Individuals employed in this position may also be eligible to earn bonuses. This job will be posted for a minimum of five days.
