Who this fits

This manager role suits someone who builds marketing systems and can explain data clearly to nontechnical partners. You’ll work across marketing, sales operations and finance, with the role based in San Francisco on a hybrid schedule. The work spans regions and includes training marketing and sales teams.

From the employer

Samba is a media intelligence company. We know what the world is watching, reading, and thinking about — in real time, at scale, across every screen. Our data exists with the consent of over a billion people, organized into the most complete picture of consumer attention ever built. The biggest brands in the world use that picture to make smarter decisions. We think it’s the most interesting data asset on the planet, because it’s the most culturally relevant.

We are looking for a Marketing Operations Manager to build and run the systems, data, and processes behind Samba’s marketing engine. In this role, you will own our marketing technology stack, keep our data clean and trustworthy, and make sure every lead, campaign, and dollar can be traced from first touch to closed-won revenue. You will serve as the bridge between marketing, Sales, Revenue Operations, and finance, so that every team works from the same numbers and the same definitions.

If you love building systems that scale, untangling messy data, and giving teams reports they can trust, this role is for you.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

    Technology Stack Management

  • Platform Administration: Own HubSpot as the marketing team’s system of record, including properties, workflows, lists, forms, email deliverability, user permissions, and governance standards.

  • Tool Integration: Connect HubSpot and the wider marketing stack to Salesforce and other tools (website, webinar and event platforms, paid media channels, data enrichment), and monitor sync health so data moves reliably between systems.

  • Vendor Management: Evaluate new software, run pilots, negotiate contracts and renewals with procurement and finance, and remove “shelfware” that team members don’t use.

  • Stack Roadmap: Maintain a documented map of the marketing stack (owners, costs, renewal dates, integrations) and plan where it should go next, including AI and automation tools that help a lean team move faster.

  • Data, Analytics & Attribution

  • Lead Scoring & Routing: Build and maintain fit and engagement scoring models and routing logic so high-intent leads reach the right salespeople quickly, with clear follow-up SLAs across regions.

  • Attribution Modeling: Set up multi-touch attribution models that show which marketing channels (events, content, paid ads, partners, and more) sourced, influenced, and closed deals.

  • Database Hygiene: Clean up duplicate and incomplete records, set data standards and enrichment rules, ensure compliance with privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA, and other regional laws), and manage opt-in/opt-out lists and subscription preferences.

  • Account-Based Data: Support account-based marketing by maintaining target account lists, account-level engagement scoring, and intent signals across HubSpot and Salesforce.

  • Campaign & Process Optimization

  • Lifecycle Marketing: Standardize the funnel stages (Lead ➔ MQL ➔ SQL ➔ Opportunity ➔ Closed-Won) with clear definitions, entry and exit criteria, and handoff rules, so sales and marketing speak the same language.

  • Campaign Operations: Own campaign setup standards, including UTM conventions, naming taxonomy, HubSpot campaign objects, and Salesforce campaign hierarchy, so every program is tracked consistently from launch.

  • A/B Testing Frameworks: Set up clean tracking for marketing experiments across email, landing pages, and paid media, with agreed success metrics and sample sizes, so teams can trust their test results.

  • Playbook Creation: Document internal processes, from campaign launch checklists to lead management rules, so the marketing team can scale without losing efficiency.

  • Global Operations: Build processes that work across regions (Americas, EMEA, APAC), including localized forms, regional consent requirements, and routing for international teams.

  • Alignment & Reporting

You serve as the vital bridge between marketing, Sales Operations, and finance.

  • Revenue Operations (RevOps): Partner with RevOps and Sales Ops so data flows from a marketing click to a closed-won contract, with shared definitions and a single source of truth for pipeline.

  • Funnel & Pipeline Reporting: Build dashboards for marketing, sales leadership, and executives covering MQL volume, stage conversion rates, speed to lead, marketing-sourced and influenced pipeline, and closed-won revenue.

  • Channel Reporting: Track performance across paid media, email, website, social, events, and content, from spend and engagement to the leads and pipeline each channel produces.

  • Budget & ROI: Partner with finance to track spend against budget and report on CAC, cost per MQL, cost per opportunity, and ROI by channel and campaign.

  • Planning & Enablement: Support annual and quarterly planning with funnel math tied to pipeline targets, run weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting reviews, and train marketing and sales teams on HubSpot and reporting.

WHO YOU ARE

    Who You Are

  • 5+ years of experience in marketing operations, revenue operations, or marketing technology, ideally in B2B SaaS, data, or media.

  • Expert-level HubSpot administration skills; HubSpot certifications are a plus.

  • Hands-on Salesforce experience, including the HubSpot–Salesforce integration, campaign objects, and lead and contact management.

  • A track record of building lead scoring, routing, and lifecycle stage frameworks that sales teams adopted.

  • Working knowledge of attribution models (first-touch, last-touch, multi-touch) and the trade-offs between them.

  • Familiarity with GDPR, CCPA, and consent management in a global marketing database.

  • Strong analytical skills: power-user spreadsheet skills and experience with at least one BI or reporting tool (e.g., Looker, Tableau, Power BI, HubSpot and Salesforce reporting).

  • A systems thinker who documents as they build and leaves processes better than they found them.

  • Clear communicator who can explain data to non-technical stakeholders and push back when definitions or data quality are at risk.

  • Project management instincts: you can juggle multiple stakeholders, prioritize ruthlessly, and ship work on deadline.

  • Nice to Have

  • SQL skills or experience with a data warehouse.

  • Experience with data enrichment, intent, or ABM platforms (e.g., Demandbase).

  • Experience supporting marketing teams across multiple countries and time zones.

  • Ad tech, media, or measurement industry background.
