Who this fits

This per-diem position is based at the Junction Building in Toledo and uses variable shifts. Medical dispatch or Care Navigation experience and Ohio EMT-B certification are preferred. You should be comfortable working around hospital workstations, monitors, hazardous materials, and dispatch equipment.

Job Summary:

ACCOUNTABILITIES

*All duties listed below are essential unless noted otherwise*

  • Receive, triage, and schedule all ground patient transports.
  • Organizes facility schedules for Zoll/Logis entry and Dispatch processing. Coordinates daily schedule adjustments and communicates with Care Navigation, Access, Field Supervision and Facilities.
  • Ensures daily efficient processing of all ProMedica Enterprise transport requests, in conjunction with Care Navigation, Access, Field Supervision, and Facilities.
  • Processes all transportation requests following Priority responses within established metrics.
  • Effectively and accurately inputs all transport data and related communications within the CAD system.
  • Effectively dispatches and tracks Ambulances and Ambulette’s to proper originating and receiving facilities utilizing established procedures and protocols.
  • Escalates any scheduling conflicts or transport delays to the Systems Supervisor.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Must have a High School diploma or equivalent.

Skills: Must be able to organize effectively, pay close mindfulness and perform functions with minimal supervision. Must have excellent people skills.

Certification: Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD) within three (3) months of hire.

Years of Experience: 1-2 years in Medical Dispatch or Care Navigation.

Certification: EMT Basic (EMT-B) in the state of Ohio.

ADDITIONAL EXPERIENCE

Must be able to understand directions, communicate, and respond to inquiries; requires effective people skills.

Must be able to input and retrieve information from computer.

Must be proficient in the use of a computer.

Knowledge of IP radio, phone, dispatch, and recording systems.

Knowledge of security systems.

EMS CAD, Epic and Image Trend operational procedures

Must be able to move about hospital and between workstations, and prolonged periods of standing.

Must be able to frequently move, lift or carry materials weighing up to 50 lbs., 20% of the time.

Must be able to differentiate colors, work with monitors, VCR’s, hazardous materials, and equipment.
