Help Drive Change for Children and Young People
Plan International Pilipinas is seeking a Communications and Advocacy Officer to support the implementation of the Collective Action Against Trafficking, OSAEC, and Child, Early and Forced Marriage and Unions (CAAT) Phase 3 Project from October 2026 to September 2029.
Working across Eastern Visayas and BARMM, the project aims to strengthen prevention, protection, recovery, and reintegration efforts for children and young people at risk of trafficking, online sexual abuse and exploitation, and child, early, and forced marriage and unions.
This role is ideal for a development communication professional with strong experience in SBCC, advocacy and influencing, youth engagement, and strategic storytelling.
About the Role
Reporting to the Head of Communications, Advocacy, and Campaigns, the Communications and Advocacy Officer will lead the project's communication, behavior change, advocacy, and visibility initiatives. The role will work closely with implementing partners, local stakeholders, and young people to create evidence-based campaigns and amplify youth voices in safe and meaningful ways.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Communications & SBCC
- Lead the design and implementation of the project's Social and Behavior Change Communication (SBCC) strategy.
- Develop evidence-based communication interventions that influence knowledge, attitudes, behaviors, and social norms.
- Support project teams and partners in implementing and monitoring SBCC activities.
Content Development & Storytelling
- Develop communication products such as IEC materials, social media content, videos, advocacy materials, and publications.
- Translate technical information into engaging and accessible content.
- Produce ethical, safeguarding-compliant stories of change and project impact.
Advocacy, Influencing & Youth Engagement
- Develop and implement advocacy and influencing plans.
- Facilitate the meaningful participation of children and young people in campaigns and advocacy initiatives.
- Mentor youth leaders in communications, storytelling, and advocacy.
Visibility & Brand Building
- Ensure compliance with branding, safeguarding, and donor visibility requirements.
- Identify opportunities to showcase project impact through media, digital platforms, and stakeholder engagement.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Development Communication, Communication, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing Communication, Social Sciences, Development Studies, or a related field.
- At least 3-5 years of relevant experience in communications, SBCC, advocacy and influencing, campaigns, and multimedia content development.
