Parexel is looking for a Scientific Specialist for our Medical Communications department. This is a 6 months maternity cover (possible extension) starting in October.


The role requires a self-directed scientific communicator with strong technical expertise, capable of managing complex medical communications projects independently while maintaining high quality standards and stakeholder relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain expert-level knowledge of relevant therapeutic areas, client products, and project goals

  • Produce high-quality scientific content across all communication formats through rigorous research, writing, editing, and verification

  • Own assigned projects/programs end-to-end, independently solving complex technical challenges with minimal oversight

  • Ensure excellent project delivery within scope and deadlines

  • Manage effective communication and collaboration with clients and external stakeholders (authors, opinion leaders) throughout project lifecycles

  • Understand the organization's full range of services and operational processes

Skills and Experience:

  • Very strong prior experience preferred in a similar role, preferably within a medical communications agency environment

  • Ability to acquire and apply specialized therapy area knowledge

  • Ability to interpret and organize scientific data

  • Ability to understand and implement marketing messages

  • Strong scientific writing competency

  • Proofreading and copyediting skills

  • Ability to quality control own output

Education:

  • Degree and Advanced degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, or Medicine (BSc, BA, PharmD, PhD, MD)
