Job Description:

Providing for loved ones, planning rewarding retirements, saving enough for whatever lies ahead – our policyholders count on us to be there when it matters most. It’s a big ask, but it’s one that we have the power to deliver when we work together. We collaborate and innovate – pushing one another to transform not just Pacific Life, but the entire industry for the better. Why? Because it’s the right thing to do. Pacific Life is more than a job, it’s a career with purpose. It’s a career where you have the support, balance, and resources to make a positive impact on the future – including your own.

We’re actively seeking a talented Senior Annuity Marketing Strategist to fill an existing role on our Marketing Strategy Team in Newport Beach, CA or Omaha, NE.

As a Senior Annuity Marketing Strategist, you’ll move Pacific Life, and your career, forward by driving the Consumer Markets Division’s growth and long-term success. This is a hybrid role that combines hands-on strategy development and campaign execution with relationship management for the advisory channel. You will lead the development and execution of annuity marketing campaigns that support our advisory business, while also serving as the primary marketing partner to our Advisory Sales and Strategic Accounts teams. As the liaison between Product, Sales, and cross-functional Marketing teams, you will help shape compelling campaign strategies and apply data-driven insights to guide how we position our products in the marketplace. Your work will inform strategic direction, influence how we go-to-market, and strengthen relationships with the advisors and firms we serve. In addition to advisory-focused work, you will also lead retail annuity campaigns as needed to support broader growth initiatives.

How you’ll help us move forward:

  • Own the strategic development and maintenance of advisory annuity product marketing, including point-of-sale collateral, webpages, and other assets, and support additional retail annuity initiatives as assigned.

  • Drive go-to-market strategy and execution of omnichannel marketing campaigns—including email, social, and web—to build awareness and adoption of advisory annuity products.

  • Serve as the advisory annuity product expert for Marketing by providing insights, guidance, and expertise that inform campaign strategies, positioning, and communications and ensure materials align with firm and channel-specific needs.

  • Contribute to and support thought leadership development and media storytelling opportunities that position advisory annuities beyond product features by highlighting their broader value in financial planning.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional Marketing partners—including Creative Services, Marketing Operations, Digital Execution, and Campaign Management—to ensure campaigns, messaging, and initiatives align with business priorities.

  • Partner with internal stakeholders to execute campaigns and promotional opportunities and identify ways to educate internal teams and support their marketing efforts.

  • Serve as the primary marketing contact for the Sales teams, developing marketing campaigns and sales ideas that align with product positioning and priorities.

  • Proactively communicate with all internal and external stakeholders and teammates to ensure alignment, clarity, and transparency throughout projects and initiatives.

  • Ensure product materials are timely, compliant, and effectively distributed across relevant channels.

  • Monitor industry trends, competitor activity, and field feedback to translate insights into actionable marketing strategies and product positioning that maintain a competitive advantage.

  • Inform dynamic digital tools and sales collateral that help financial professionals and clients understand complex retirement income strategies.

  • Monitor performance of campaigns and initiatives, using data and feedback to refine strategies and optimize impact.

  • Represent Marketing in strategic cross-functional meetings such as PMO by receiving updates on product or timing changes, advising on marketing impacts, and communicating key information back to the Marketing team for alignment.

  • Travel periodically with the Sales team or industry conferences to gain deeper insight into the sales process to better support business and marketing needs.

  • May perform additional duties assigned

The experience you bring:

  • 8 to 10+ years of experience in product marketing and sales within financial services; experience with annuities is required; advisory annuities preferred.

  • Exhibit excellent communication skills across all levels of the organization, tailoring messages to effectively engage executives, peers, cross-functional partners, and team members.

  • Demonstrate experience developing marketing deliverables such as pitch decks, creative briefs, and email journey maps to support campaign strategy and execution.

  • Development of integrated marketing plans that build awareness, drive engagement, and generate leads.

  • Knowledge of marketing technologies such as customer relationship management (CRM) systems, marketing automation platforms, sales enablement tools, social media management tools, and analytics platforms.

  • Communicate effectively, manage time well, and pay close attention to detail while handling multiple projects with overlapping deadlines.

  • Collaborate across teams and demonstrate leadership to build strong working relationships.

  • Adapt quickly to changing priorities and shifting timelines.

What makes you stand out:

  • Communicate marketing, business, and technical needs clearly to align teams and achieve goals.

  • Excel in fast-paced environments, managing multiple complex projects at once with minimal oversight.

  • Apply data-driven thinking to solve problems and evaluate the effectiveness of marketing channels and tactics.
