At NBCU Skycastle, you'll join the in-house marketing, creative, and production studio for NBCUniversal Local. Our award-winning team creates premium, bilingual content and marketing solutions that connect audiences with leading brands across broadcast, streaming, digital, social, and emerging platforms.

As a Sports Marketing Specialist, you'll help bring high-profile sports partnerships and marketing programs to life while supporting revenue growth across NBCUniversal's sports portfolio. Based in New York City and reporting to the Director, Sports & Sales Marketing, you'll collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Creative, and Production teams to develop compelling client solutions, execute strategic campaigns, and contribute to some of the most recognizable sports properties in media.

  • Assist Sports Partnerships and Development Sales (SPD) and NBCU Skycastle colleagues with a variety of administrative and creative tasks, including the development of new opportunities around major sports tent-poles, creating sales materials for those opportunities and communicating them to sales teams
  • Assist the Skycastle Marketing team with the creation and updating of NBCU Local capabilities presentations, and sales materials for various sports properties including, but not limited to Olympics, FIFA, NFL, NHL, MLB, and NBA
  • Support the sales marketing team in creative ideation, as well as developing client proposals, recaps, and case studies
  • Update and maintain internal SharePoint sites and presentation archives for NBCU Local Sales Marketing Materials (properties, tent-poles, initiatives)
  • Create communications (eblasts, newsletters) to share headlines and sports industry news that will assist in the sales process
  • Serve as a resource to station sales marketing leaders, helping them access materials and information
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum one (1+) year of experience; preferably in advertising, marketing or related field
  • Possess knowledge of the role of multi-platform applications (digital, mobile, OTT/CTV, social media) in marketing campaigns, with a passion for learning more about these platforms
  • Proficiency with MS Office 365 Suite (e.g. Teams, Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint, etc.)

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Must be willing to work in New York in a hybrid capacity.
  • Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
  • Must be 18 years of age

Desired Characteristics:

  • General understanding of advertising marketplace across various platforms
  • Experience in media marketing and the advertising sales process
  • Solid writing and oral communication skills and a sound understanding of television and digital advertising/marketing
  • Work collaboratively and manage competing deadlines, fast turnarounds expectations and constructive criticism in stride
  • Think creatively, ability to communicate ideas effectively in writing and display those ideas with relevant imagery and an eye for design/layout in engaging and thoughtfully designed PowerPoint materials
  • Manage and prioritize multiple projects across multiple points of contact with excellent organizational skills, time management, and attention to detail
  • Passion for analytics and data, and ability to synthesize it into an impactful presentation
  • Proficiency with graphics program such as Adobe Photoshop
  • Experience and understanding of sports marketing rights, athlete talent, and NIL marketplace
  • Passion and knowledge of sports in general
  • Fluent in speaking and writing Spanish is a plus
  • Positive attitude

Hybrid: This position currently has a hybrid schedule, which requires contributing from the office a minimum of four days per week. The Company reserves the right to change in-office requirements at any time.
