Position Overview:

The Coordinator, Basketball Communications Wizards, will support all basketball communications efforts for the team. This position will manage a variety of day-to-day basketball communications activities, deliver media service functions and in-game media relations requirements for the team, and contribute to generating publicity for media surrounding the team’s on-court efforts.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with media requests at practices, shootarounds and games.
  • Manage press room on game days.
  • Author game notes and brainstorm and pitch on-court related stories
  • Assist with creation and distribution of external communication (e.g., media guide, draft guide, summer league guide, press releases, player bios)
  • Maintain statistical & archival upkeep (e.g., player, coach and team performance charts, information for notes, team records, league records, etc.)
  • Manage Wizards X account.
  • Compile daily clips and internal briefs.
  • Maintain team media website.
  • Fulfill ticket requests for players, coaches, and basketball operations staff.
  • Travel to select games.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • 1–3 years of experience in sports information, media relations or athletic communications.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Experience writing press releases, game notes, media guides, player biographies, or similar communications materials preferred.
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality while interacting with media, players, coaches, and league personnel.
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.

Pay Range: $55k - $60k USD.
