👀 The Role
Title: Junior Marketing Compliance Officer
Team: Compliance
Location: Gibraltar
Marketing at Midnite moves quickly, and Compliance needs to move with it.
As our Junior Marketing Compliance Officer, you'll work closely with our Marketing and Compliance teams to help make sure our advertising, promotions, social content and campaigns meet UK gambling advertising requirements without unnecessarily slowing the business down.
This is a great role for someone looking to build a career in gambling compliance and develop specialist knowledge of marketing and advertising regulation.
You won't be expected to know everything from day one. You'll be supported by senior members of the Compliance team, while gradually building the knowledge and judgement to review more complex marketing activity independently.
You will:
Review marketing materials across channels including social media, CRM, digital advertising, promotions, sponsorships and other campaigns, checking them against relevant regulatory and advertising requirements.
Support the marketing approval process, keeping clear records of decisions and ensuring appropriate audit trails are maintained.
Develop a working knowledge of the CAP and BCAP Codes, Gambling Commission requirements and ASA guidance relevant to gambling advertising.
Help identify potential issues such as under-18 appeal, misleading claims, promotional terms, significant conditions and responsible gambling requirements.
Support reviews of athlete, influencer and sponsorship content, particularly where there may be heightened regulatory risk.
Monitor relevant ASA rulings and regulatory developments and help identify lessons that should be applied to Midnite's future marketing.
Work directly with Marketing to explain compliance requirements and, importantly, help find compliant ways of achieving what a campaign is trying to do rather than simply saying no.
Escalate higher-risk or unusual campaigns to senior Compliance colleagues where further judgement is required.
Help maintain marketing compliance guidance, approval logs, risk records and other internal documentation.
As your knowledge develops, take increasing responsibility for reviewing and approving marketing activity independently.
The next Midniter:
Some experience within compliance, gambling, marketing, legal, regulatory affairs or another regulated environment.
An interest in advertising, social media, sport and how brands communicate with customers.
Strong attention to detail - you'll notice the wording, image or small detail that others might miss.
Good written and verbal communication skills and the confidence to work directly with Marketing stakeholders.
The ability to explain compliance requirements in plain English rather than hiding behind regulatory language.
Good judgement and the confidence to ask questions or escalate something when it doesn't feel right.
The ability to work at pace and manage multiple reviews without losing attention to detail.
A willingness to learn the CAP/BCAP Codes, LCCP and wider UK gambling advertising requirements.
A practical mindset. Compliance at Midnite isn't about finding reasons something can't be done; it's about understanding the risk and helping the business find the right way to do it.
Experience in gambling or marketing compliance would be useful, but isn't essential. The right attitude, judgement and willingness to learn matter more.
