Role brief

Growth Roles summary, based on the employer's posting.

What you'll do

  • You’ll choose the events Lightdash attends and decide whether to use talks, booths, side events, or your own formats
  • You’ll run event delivery from venue and vendor coordination through assets, speakers, registrations, and on-site support
  • You’ll keep data practitioners engaged across Slack, LinkedIn, events, and the dbt ecosystem
  • You’ll turn events, launches, customer conversations, and company ideas into blog, social, and other marketing content
  • You’ll support partnership, campaign, social, and content work as the startup’s needs change

What you bring

  • At least a year of experience delivering events or community programs, whether in-house or at an agency
  • Clear written and face-to-face communication, including outreach writing and meetup presentation skills
  • Strong operational habits that keep deadlines, vendors, and details under control
  • Regular use of AI tools to work faster and handle more than writing alone
  • A proactive, curious approach to learning the wider marketing function; B2B tech, relevant tools, or data-community connections are bonuses

Who this fits

This role suits an early-career marketer who wants broad ownership across events, community, content, partnerships, and campaigns. You’ll work directly with the Marketing Lead on a small, fast-moving startup team. The role is based in London with a hybrid setup and includes hands-on event work.

From the employer

This role
We're looking for a marketer to work directly with our Marketing Lead and own how Lightdash shows up in the world - at events, in the community, and through the partnerships that help us grow.

You'll have real ownership: deciding which events we do, how we show up, and making it all happen. You'll also help us build and nurture our community of data practitioners. We’re open to people early into their marketing career, with enough experience to hit the ground running.

What you'll actually work on

  • Events. Lightdash's events presence is growing fast. You'll own our events calendar: deciding which conferences we attend, whether we go with a booth, a talk, a side event, or something we throw ourselves. You'll manage logistics end-to-end: venues, vendors, assets, speaker coordination, registrations, and being on the ground when it matters. We run our own meetup series and you'll help grow that too.

  • Community. We have a real community of data practitioners on Slack, on LinkedIn, at events, in the dbt ecosystem. You'll help us nurture it: keeping it active, finding ways to give back, and turning lurkers into advocates. You'll spot the people worth knowing and help us build genuine relationships with them.

  • Content. Turning what happens in the world (events, product launches, conversations with customers, things we're thinking about) into blog posts, write-ups, and social content. You'll also own production across our marketing calendar and help keep the content engine running.

  • Other stuff. This is a startup. So, you'll occasionally help out with content, social, or campaigns.

What we're looking for

We care about drive and curiosity more than a perfect CV. Here's what would make you stand out:

  • 1+ years of experience running events or community programmes, in-house or agency. B2B tech is a bonus

  • You're a strong communicator, written and in-person. You can write a compelling outreach email and hold a room at a meetup

  • You're organised in the way that matters: deadlines don't slip, vendors get chased, and nothing falls through the cracks

  • You use AI tools as a genuine part of how you work. Not just for writing, but for moving faster and doing more with less

  • You're proactive: you spot what needs doing and do it

  • You're excited about learning the full spectrum of marketing, not just one corner of it

Bonus:

  • You're familiar with tools like Attio, Google Analytics, Figma, and Framer

  • You have existing relationships in the data/analytics/dbt community

What you'll get

  • Competitive salary

  • Real ownership from day one

  • Broad exposure across marketing: events, content, community, partnerships, campaigns

  • Direct mentorship from an experienced team, with full visibility into how a fast-growing startup approaches marketing
