About The Role

Reporting to the Executive General Manager, Marketing, this leadership role will be responsible for shaping and delivering Journey Beyond’s PR Communications strategy, corporate affairs, global earned media and owned content, crisis communications, content direction, and brand storytelling across the Journey Beyond portfolio.

This is a national role, ideally Adelaide or Sydney, with the flexibility to travel as required.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead the development and execution of Journey Beyond's Group PR Communications strategy ensuring communications and earned media activities support the organisation’s brand, reputation and market presence across customers, media, partners and the broader public.
  • Strengthen and protect the reputation of Journey Beyond and its portfolio of brands through innovative communications, stakeholder engagement and proactive media relations.
  • Drive earned media, outcomes through high-impact PR campaigns, media opportunities and brand storytelling across domestic and international markets.
  • Ideation and managing major brand and media event, supporting activations and sponsorships.
  • Provide strategic communications advice and support to the Executive Leadership Team, including executive profiling and major external business announcements.
  • Lead crisis and issues management communications, ensuring the business is prepared to respond effectively and protect brand reputation.
  • Oversee content and communications initiatives that support brand awareness, engagement and commercial outcomes.
  • Provide PR and external communications support for acquisitions, partnerships, and major corporate announcements.
  • Manage external communications partners and agencies, ensuring strong performance and alignment with business objectives.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing communications team, fostering a collaborative and outcome-focused culture.

About You

To be successful you will be an experienced communications leader who brings:

  • Significant senior-level communications, PR, media or corporate affairs experience.
  • Solid experience working across a large, multi-brand or customer facing organisation.
  • Demonstrated experiences leading communications strategy across multiple markets and audiences.
  • Creative thinker who continuously drives and supports the progress of our team and business.
  • Proven experience managing high-profile issues and crisis communications.
  • Experience advising senior executives and preparing executive spokespeople.
  • Experience leading internal teams and external agency partners.
  • A passion for storytelling, tourism and building leading brands.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
