Position Summary:

Serves as the strategic leader for brand strategy, content creation, and creative direction within the Irvine Company Retail division. This role translates enterprise standards into dynamic branding programs that elevate storytelling, articulate value, and drive engagement across Business-to-Customer (B2C) and Business-to-Business (B2B) segments. The Senior Director, Brand Strategy & Management sets the creative vision and content strategy for all retail initiatives, ensuring high-caliber execution across digital and physical platforms for a portfolio of over 40 shopping centers. Working closely with Retail Marketing, Corporate Marketing, and agency partners, this position ensures all deliverables consistently reflect the premium quality and distinction of Irvine Company brands.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set the creative vision for retail branding, aligning brand priorities with business objectives and customer needs.
  • Develop and manage the retail content strategy and calendar to drive leasing, foot traffic, and sales.
  • Lead multi-format content development—including digital, video, and experiential assets—from concept to delivery.
  • Direct an internal creative team and external agency partners to maintain high-quality design and production standards.
  • Oversee social and earned media strategies, programming, and performance metrics aligned with brand narratives.
  • Collaborate with Portfolio Marketing, Leasing, Asset Management, and Operations to activate content across the portfolio.
  • Execute customer marketing strategies across Business-to-Customer (B2C) segments to convey retail center value.
  • Produce high-impact pitch materials, brochures, and Business-to-Business (B2B) thought leadership to support brokers and retailers.
  • Integrate Artificial Intelligence (AI) and martech tools to optimize workflows and adapt to changing consumer behaviors.
  • Partner with analytics teams to evaluate campaign performance, Return on Investment (ROI), customer personas, and segmentation.

Additional Skills:

  • Proven track record of transforming "big ideas" into high-impact, omni-channel campaigns that accelerate business growth and property leasing objectives.
  • Deep expertise in B2B and consumer behavior, retail marketing, channel strategy, partnership marketing, and multi-platform campaign execution.
  • Mastery of core branding principles and copywriting (headlines and body copy) to guide high-quality creative execution.

Preferred Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent experience)

Preferred Years of Relevant Work Experience:

  • 7+ years, with most experience developing creative work within an advertising agency or internal corporate creative services department.
  • Experience building customer testimonial and social proof initiatives, including video and multimedia content strategies.

Compensation:

Base Pay Range: $181,700.00 - $233,900.00

Actual placement within this range may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location.
