From the employer
Hello, we’re Instrumentl. 👋
Nonprofits do some of the most important work in the world, and most of them are still managing grants in spreadsheets. We're fixing that.
Instrumentl is a profitable, hypergrowth, YC-backed SaaS platform building the operating system for grant-funded organizations. More than 5,500 nonprofits use Instrumentl to discover, track, and win grant funding, from local community organizations to the San Diego Zoo and the University of Alaska. Collectively they’ve moved over $1 billion through our platform.
We're growing quickly, customers love us (check out our G2 reviews!), and we're hiring people who want to build something that matters.
About the role:
- We're hiring a Senior Content Marketing Manager, reporting to the Head of Growth Marketing, to build and run the content engine that turns nonprofit awareness into pipeline. You'll help tell our category story as Instrumentl evolves from a grant discovery tool into the operating system for grant-funded organizations, with writing that is versatile across both short and long form content, strategically designed across the full demand funnel and connects emotionally, moving people to act. This is a performance role, too: you’re passionate about measuring outcomes and using data to keep improving it.
What you'll do:
- Write compelling content across formats — long-form thought leadership, benchmark reports, one-pagers, ads, social posts & website content
- Have a POV on what types of messaging works best and adjust for each channel including social/digital/SEM/AEO
- Tell our strategic category story — why Instrumentl is becoming the operating system for grant-funded organizations, and why that matters to the people using it
- Map content to funnel stage — awareness, consideration, decision — and build sequences that move nonprofits from first touch to customer
- Build and manage a content calendar coordinating campaigns in partnership with the broader marketing team
- Understand our audience deeply — who they are, what they do and how we can meet their needs
- Track what's working and what isn't, and use those learnings to optimize
- SEO and AEO: Stay ahead of how generative and agentic search is changing how nonprofits find and evaluate solutions, and create content that moves the needle.

- A performance mindset: comfortable with data and quick to turn results into sharper work
- Strong writer with sharp editorial judgment and an instinct for the emotional and practical reasons an audience acts
- Ability to quickly build subject matter expertise in a complex domain through research and SME interviews
