Role Overview:
Partnering closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams, the Global Communications & Influencer Director oversees end-to-end earned media and organic advocacy initiatives, including executive thought leadership, crisis communications, major talent activations, and 360° multi-region creator campaigns, all while managing international agency partners and global budgets to drive measurable ROI. Ideal candidates bring 8–10+ years of beauty or agency experience, deep US beauty media & talent relationships, and a proven track record of mentoring direct reports.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead Glossier’s integrated communications strategy and campaigns for new product launches in alignment with CFX partners to ensure cohesive brand messaging to drive awareness, advocacy and relevance and protect brand equity.
- Develop communications plans for all new & evergreen brand moments, ensuring holistic strategies in partnership with Global Brand Marketing and in alignment with the Senior Leadership Team to elevate and advance the overall brand narrative goals and business strategy.
- Partner with Product Development & Brand Product Marketing to help build and accelerate Glossier's credibility as a beauty authority (i.e. Makeup Artist and Skincare Ambassador identification and management).
- Lead organic advocacy strategy to continue to build Glossier’s word-of-mouth heritage; develop and manage relationships with key opinion leaders and industry stakeholders to amplify the company’s message and drive product trial.
- Craft and distribute compelling press releases, media kits, and other PR materials to generate positive media coverage for new product launches and other brand initiatives/key moments.
- Manage international communications agencies/freelancers needed to accelerate and protect brand narratives and equity in new and existing markets.
- Lead all reputational management and crisis communications in collaboration with respective agency partners.
- Position C-suite executives as industry thought leaders through targeted keynote opportunities, podcast appearances, and industry panel features.
- Oversee the end-to-end global influencer strategy, aligning creator partnerships with overall brand objectives, product launches, and revenue targets. Tailor global playbooks for local nuances across key regions.
- Oversee large-scale, multi-region campaigns across social platforms (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, emerging channels) from briefing to post-campaign analysis.
- Oversee negotiation, legal contracting, and relationship management for high-tier global talent, talent agencies, and long-term brand ambassadors.
- Partner closely with Brand Marketing, Social Media, Paid Media, Product, and E-commerce teams to ensure 360° integration of influencer content.
- Partner with Brand Marketing and Retail to build the cultural and earned strategy for Glossier’s flagship stores, identifying talent, partnerships, programming and community moments that establish our stores as destinations for culture and generate sustained conversation beyond traditional retail.
- Allocate and manage global budgets, establishing clear reporting frameworks.
- Establish benchmarks and KPIs to enable consistent reporting on progress and success sharing with a focus on brand awareness, engagement, and relevance related to earned media.
- Mentor and develop direct reports by setting clear performance targets, establishing individual growth plans, and fostering a culture of ownership.
Qualifications:
- 8-10+ years of experience at an established beauty company or integrated communications/talent agency (managing accounts)
- The ideal candidate has a proven track record of effective and efficient communication and process creation.
- The ideal candidate has worked in conjunction with cross-functional partners within an organization.
- The ideal candidate has well-established mid- to senior-level contacts within the US beauty media landscape.

The estimated annual pay range for this role is $65.00 - $80.00 per hour
- There may be future opportunities for continued pay progression based on continued strong performance in the role.
