Who this fits

From the employer

Where stories begin, and neighbourhoods come to life.

Welcome to Hotel Indigo Adelaide Markets, where every guest walks into a local story.

Located in the heart of the iconic Adelaide Central Market, we’re proud to be the first Hotel Indigo in Australia — a boutique hotel designed for curious traveller and locals alike. With 145 design-led rooms, our vibrant Market & Meander restaurant and the lively Merrymaker Rooftop Bar, we’re all about great food, local culture, memorable experiences and genuine connection.

As Director of Sales and Marketing, you'll be a vital business partner to the General Manager and a key member of the hotel's leadership team. This is a pivotal role for a commercially sharp, creative leader who can take full ownership of the hotel's revenue and marketing strategy — someone who thinks like a business owner, tells a great story, and knows how to turn both into results.

A taste of your day-to-day

  • Own the hotel's commercial strategy end to end — driving revenue growth, profitability and market share across accommodation, F&B, meetings & events, and ancillary revenue streams.
  • Set pricing strategy, forecast demand, and manage inventory to maximise occupancy and rate across all segments.
  • Manage the department's budget in line with the hotel's financial goals, including payroll.
  • Use revenue analytics to deliver sharp, regular reporting on performance, market dynamics and opportunities to the GM and ownership.
  • Lead, coach and energise a high-performing Sales & Marketing team, setting clear targets and building a results-driven culture.
  • Develop marketing strategies that bring the Hotel Indigo brand and Adelaide Market story to life — locally and beyond.
  • Build genuine relationships with corporate, leisure, events and local business partners that translate into direct demand.
  • Champion guest reputation and experience as a core driver of commercial success.

What we need from you

  • A minimum of 3 years in a senior Sales & Marketing or Commercial leadership role, ideally within hospitality or lifestyle/boutique hotel brands.
  • Demonstrated, hands-on success driving revenue and commercial performance — you know your way around forecasting, pricing and analytics, not just the theory.
  • Strong marketing capability, with experience developing strategies across F&B, events and accommodation.
  • Confidence managing a commercial budget and applying financial and analytical rigour to strategic decisions.
  • A track record of leading, motivating and developing a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Excellent stakeholder, relationship-building and communication skills — you represent the hotel and brand in every interaction.
  • Confident public speaking and facilitation skills.
  • Australian citizenship or permanent residency — full working rights are essential.
