We are seeking a talented and passionate Technical Director – Engagement and Communication to help shape and deliver strategic initiatives across complex infrastructure, environmental, and energy projects.
Join GHD’s growing engagement services area and collaborate with communication and engagement consultants across Australia to help deliver GHD’s vision of creating lasting community benefit.
This role is a fantastic opportunity for someone ready to take the next step in their career, deepen their technical expertise and grow their influence in shaping best practice across engagement and communication.
Working with a supportive, high-performing team, you will contribute to a variety of projects and have the opportunity to develop your technical and commercial capabilities through:
- Developing and implementing stakeholder and community engagement strategies and plans across GHD’s diverse projects
- Managing and successfully delivering complex projects for clients, with support as you grow into the broader responsibilities of the role
- Building trusted relationships with existing clients and contributing to new areas of growth
- Identifying opportunities and helping develop clear, compelling proposals with guidance from experienced colleagues
- Contributing to collaborative, high-performing teams and consistently delivering quality outcomes
- Sharing practical insights, lessons and ideas that strengthen engagement and communication practice
- Growing your influence as a technical practitioner by sharing knowledge, supporting colleagues and role modelling GHD behaviours
- Contributing ideas and technical perspectives that help shape GHD’s strategic direction
What you’ll bring:
- 7 to 10 years’ experience delivering engagement and communication outcomes, with the ambition and readiness to grow into a senior technical role
- Formal qualifications in a Social Science/Communications/Commerce degree or a related field, or equivalent transferable experience
- A strong commitment to client service and quality delivery
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills, with the flexibility to respond to changing project needs
- Excellent writing skills and the ability to create high-quality content for different audiences and channels
- Strong interpersonal skills and the confidence to communicate respectfully with community members, clients and other stakeholders
- The ability to work independently when needed and collaboratively as part of a team
- Sound judgement, curiosity and a willingness to learn
