The Content Sports Marketing department at ESPN is responsible for creating and executing live sport marketing strategies across streaming and linear television platforms. The department covers a wide range of sports, including NFL, NBA, College Football, and more. The team works closely with media, creative teams, content producers, programmers, and distributors to deliver engaging and relevant sports marketing strategies to fans around the world. The Content Sports Marketing department is always looking for new and innovative ways to showcase the best of sports, ESPN's brand, and reach expansion audiences.
The Associate Manager, Sports Marketing is part of the NFL brand team, which supports NFL Network, NFL Draft, Monday Night Football, SB LXI, and all other NFL priorities across the company, based in New York, NY. This position will focus on development and execution of marketing strategies and multi-platform promotional plans for the NFL Network and NFL on ESPN in addition to providing overall support for the NFL team. The position reports to the Assoc Director, Sports Marketing – NFL. This role is based in New York, NY.
Responsibilities:
- Supports the development of promotional plans for the NFL Network and contributes to the strategy of the property.
- Works with various internal stakeholders including ESPN Programming, Production, Media, Social Media, Sales, Affiliate Marketing, Research and Corporate Communications.
- Establishes strong and collaborative relationships with key external partners including the NFL
- Implements new fan and consumer insights, translate these insights into key brand and innovation initiatives.
- Drives the day-to-day creative development process with internal and external creative partners to deliver world-class creative across the entire media-mix.
- Drives development of insight-driven marketing briefs to internal and external partners in support of brand initiatives and priority programming.
- Aligns plans and initiatives via weekly planning meetings with cross functional teams (Media, Social Media, Programming, Production, Affiliate).
- Updates budget for NFL Network portfolio.
- Supports marketing activations and fan experiences.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of related marketing/advertising experience required.
- Understanding of marketing fundamentals, including strategic and creative development, creative evaluation, and budget management.
- Previous experience in brand management. Skills in brand positioning and a passion for Marketing Strategy and Advertising, including live shoot production experience.
- Strong creative instincts. Experience working with internal and external creative partners.
- Strong base of marketing analytics, financial acumen and understanding of Consumer & Market insights.
- A healthy appreciation of the role sports plays in popular culture, especially music.
- Effective time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task on a high-profile, high-volume portfolio.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Holds self and others accountable for creative and executional excellence.

The hiring range for this position in New York, NY is $75,500.00 to $101,200.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
