Job Summary:
Interested in shaping the narrative of a leading global aerospace & defense supplier? From powering NASA missions to developing next-generation defense solutions and engineering technologies that define the future of flight, Crane A&E is driving industry innovation and is looking for a Marketing & Communications Specialist with a focus on internal communications to help tell our story. We’re looking for a cross-functional storyteller with a journalistic mindset who can uncover compelling stories from the shop floor to senior leadership.
As Marketing & Communications Specialist, you will build relationships across the company and use interviewing, writing, photography, video skills and more to help strengthen and modernize how we communicate internally. The Marketing & Communications specialist will also assist Crane A&E’s Marketing & Communications team with a wide range of communication initiatives, including trade shows, employee communications, marketing collateral, web content, presentation development, media relations and event planning.
Essential Functions:
- Act as primary Internal Communications lead, networking across the business to find compelling narratives that build culture and showcase Crane A&E’s industry and societal impact
- Lead the development of Crane A&E’s internal communication’s deliverables – company newsletter, SharePoint company page, visual communications platform, executive communications
- Develop written, video and other forms of new media content to showcase Crane A&E news (business wins, product launches, philanthropy and more)
- Manage Crane A&E’s internal editorial/content calendar
- Partner with HR and other internal stakeholders to develop and lead internal communications campaigns
- Contribute photography/videography support, as needed, in conjunction with Crane A&E’s Marketing & Communications team content leads
- Support media relations plan, help write and distribute trade releases, maintain media list and track earned media placements
- Translate complex business and engineering topics into easy-to-understand content for employees across the business
- Apply Crane A&E brand guidelines and standards across all internal and external facing content
- Perform analytics reporting to measure effectiveness and impact of internal communications activities
Eligibility Requirement: This position may require access to Controlled Data or Information. Where the position requires such access only US Persons will be considered. As a US Department of Defense contractor, we are bound by International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
Minimum Qualifications:
- Experience: 3-8 years relevant work experience within a newsroom, corporate or agency environment
- Knowledge: Experienced content creator with strong AP style writing skills and storytelling background; Ability to present information clearly in written form; Understanding of strategic communications planning and principles
- Skills/Abilities: High proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 applications (Word, SharePoint, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook); Foundational Adobe Creative Suite experience; Foundational videography/photography production and editing experience; Exceptional time management with great respect for deadlines; Ability to translate complex topics into digestible information.
- Education/Certifications: BA or BS degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing or another related field
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior aerospace & defense industry experience
- Demonstrated Adobe Creative Suite skill (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, After Effects)
- Experience using MailChimp email marketing software
- Experience using AI Tools (Co-Pilot) to expedite workflow
- Strong portfolio of previous work samples
- High emotional intelligence, collaborative team player, strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Willingness to travel on a minimal basis

Salary range: $95,600.00 - $121,600.00. Several factors contribute to actual salary, including experience in a similar role or performing comparable job responsibilities, skills, training, and other qualifications. Some roles may be eligible for participation in performance-based bonus programs.
