This is a one (1) year contract position.


As a Local Media Buying Specialist, you will maximize the visibility and impact of our content among French-speaking Canadians and official language minority communities (OLMCs). Working at the intersection of media strategy, partner negotiations and campaign management, you will design and execute high-performing, engaging media placements.


Responsibilities:


Planning

  • Analyze media opportunities and select appropriate media partners.
  • Help establish spend targets.
  • Evaluate opportunity costs and make recommendations.
  • Participate in partner meetings.
  • Assess the feasibility of creative concepts with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Request proposals from traditional and digital media partners.
  • Review incoming proposals.
  • Negotiate approved placements and finalize agreements.

Organizing

  • Collaborate with the media planning team.
  • Traffic campaigns within our ad server (CM360).
  • Co-ordinate seamlessly with internal and external partners to ensure creative assets are delivered in required formats and on schedule.
  • Deliver creative assets to media partners to meet production deadlines.

Leading

  • Manage relationships with local media partners.
  • Serve as a point of contact for internal teams and external partners.
  • Proactively communicate any variations in media plan execution to the planning team and media partners.

Monitoring

  • Work with media partners to optimize placements and achieve campaign goals; provide feedback to refine future strategies.
  • Assist with budget tracking and invoice reconciliation for direct buys.
  • Oversee contract workflows and administrative follow-through for media agreements.
  • Review invoices and contracts in collaboration with internal teams.
  • Consolidate media buys to ensure annual investment targets are met.
  • Prepare post-buy reports to measure campaign performance and impact.
  • Share performance results and present strategic recommendations.
  • Stay informed about market trends and opportunities, sharing key insights with internal teams.

This is a hybrid role with a mix of in-office and remote work. Work arrangements will be discussed with hiring managers per departmental guidelines.


What You Bring:


Qualifications:

  • University degree in marketing, communications, business administration or a related field.
  • Minimum three (3) years’ experience in a similar role, ideally within an agency or internal marketing department.
  • Strong proficiency with the CM360 ad server is an asset.
  • Strong proficiency with Google Workspace, particularly Google Sheets, for budget tracking and managing planning tools.
  • Intermediate English proficiency is an asset.
