About ExcellGene

ExcellGene is a Swiss biologics development company based in Monthey, innovating in mammalian cell protein expression and bioprocess development. The company develops cell lines (CHO and HEK) and processes that enable biotech and pharmaceutical clients to produce proteins, from early research to clinical use. Its edge is speed and protein expression know-how. ExcellGene also licenses its own proprietary cell hosts, CHOExpress and HEKExpress.

ARCHIMED took a majority stake in ExcellGene in late 2025.

The role

ExcellGene is hiring a Vice President Product & Marketing to build its product and marketing function and drive the next phase of growth. This is a new role, reporting into the Chief Executive Officer and part of the Executive Leadership Team, to turn product & strategy into a clear offer and steady demand, working side by side with the Vice President of Global Business Development & Sales and the Chief Scientific & Technology Officer

Key responsibilities

  • Market & customer insight: understand customers, market segments, competitors and emerging opportunities.
  • Portfolio & product strategy: shape portfolio around market needs and ExcellGene’s scientific strengths.

  • Go-to-market: define and drive GTM strategies for core business and new growth areas.
  • Demand creation: build effective lead-generation programs and targeted campaigns.
  • Sales enablement: equip Sales with insights, messaging and tools to win.
  • New growth platforms: identify and develop new organic opportunities and support the assessment and integration of potential acquisitions.
  • Team leadership: lead and develop the Marketing & Product team (3 people).

This person will connect market, portfolio, positioning, go-to-market and lead generation. He/she will decide where ExcellGene plays, why it wins, and where the next growth platforms come from.

Must have

  • A scientific background and education, ideally combined with a business or marketing qualification.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in product and marketing, including 3-5 years in a leadership role.
