About the Role
As a Relationship Manager, you’ll manage a growth-focused portfolio of small and medium-sized businesses, partnering with ambitious business owners across a diverse range of industries. By developing a deep understanding of your customers’ businesses, goals, and financial needs, you’ll become a trusted adviser, helping them navigate opportunities and achieve their growth ambitions.
This role has a strong focus on business development and proactive acquisition. You’ll be passionate about identifying, pursuing, and winning new-to-bank opportunities, while deepening existing relationships through tailored banking solutions. Success in this role will come from growing market share, expanding customer relationships, and leveraging strategic referral networks to drive sustainable portfolio growth.
Working closely with product specialists and key stakeholders across ANZ, you’ll build valuable expertise in structuring and delivering complex banking solutions. You’ll be supported by an experienced and collaborative leadership team that is committed to your development and success.

What will your day look like?
As a Relationship Manager, you will be:
- Building trusted relationships with customers and providing tailored banking solutions that support their business objectives
- Identifying and converting new business opportunities to grow your portfolio and strengthen ANZ’s presence in the market
- Developing and maintaining strong internal and external networks to support effective deal origination, design and execution
- Structuring and delivering customer solutions in partnership with product specialists and key stakeholders
- Proactively managing credit, operational and compliance risks while maintaining a strong customer focus
- Applying Relationship Credit Approval Discretion where appropriate and ensuring sound credit decision-making
What will you bring?
To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:
- A proven ability to build and grow long-term customer relationships while delivering outstanding customer experiences
- Strong knowledge of commercial and business banking products, services and solutions
- The ability to understand customers’ business needs and provide tailored, value-adding solutions
- Experience assessing, structuring and managing credit facilities, with a sound understanding of credit risk principles
- Strong negotiation skills, with the ability to structure and deliver solutions that align with both customer goals and ANZ’s risk appetite
- Commercial acumen and a growth mindset, with a demonstrated ability to identify opportunities and create long-term value
- An understanding of regulatory requirements, risk management practices and prudent banking principles
- A proactive and resilient approach to business development, with a passion for winning new business and delivering results
