The Content Specialist position provides media relations and commercial business support for ABS across a broad range of service lines for our market sectors. This position is part of the Corporate Marketing and Communications department at the ABS Headquarters in Houston, Texas, and writes content for press releases, emails, websites, specialty publications and more. This role is a hybrid opportunity, working Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from our Global Headquarters located in the Spring, Texas area. Mondays and Fridays remote.
What You Will Do:
- Collaborate with content experts, marketers, BD professionals, and external influencers and industry experts to produce relevant content for marketing purposes and lead content planning, development, and promotion workflows.
- Write and edit content across multiple channels, including press releases, specialty publications, product sheets, case studies, white papers, email campaigns, websites, and mobile platforms.
- Support ABS Group Knowledge Center content production by adapting and repurposing long-form content and source materials.
- Develop and execute enterprise social media content, including drafting content, coordinating reviews, and supporting graphic development.
- Develop publicity plans and communication strategies in partnership with marketing and communications leadership.
- Ensure content aligns with business objectives and strategic priorities.
- Delivers the right mix of commercial value based content and technical content
- Attracts a qualified audience to the website
- Generates new leads, including marketing-qualified leads, by converting site traffic through calls-to-action
- Is optimized for search engines and lead generation
- Build and manage a content/editorial calendar across channels and service lines. including social media content calendar management, coordinating with the social media specialist on scheduling and priorities.
- Create content that supports lead generation, audience engagement, website traffic growth, and search engine optimization.
- Establish analytics and KPIs with sales, marketing and content leads to understand how the content is being received by the market and ways to improve content strategies and tactics.
- Work with digital marketing to manage and improve organic search engine performance and goal-setting based on clickthrough rates, traffic, and conversions on produced content.
- Conduct competitor and industry research to ensure content remains relevant and aligned with market needs.
- Create reports and establish analytics to measure the success of ABS content – impressions, click through rates, etc.
What You Will Need:
Education and Experience
- Minimum undergraduate degree required.
- Degree in Media, Journalism, English, Marketing, or a related field preferred.
- Three (3) to five (5) years of marketing or related experience focused on content creation.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Exceptional writing and editing skills with the ability to adapt style, tone, and voice across various content types.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders.
- Strong creative thinking combined with a process-driven, data-oriented approach.
- Experience building and engaging audiences through digital and/or traditional channels.
- Knowledge of content marketing, editorial planning, social media, SEO, lead generation, and performance analytics.
- Working knowledge of the ABS Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental Management System.
Reporting Relationships:
Reports to the External Communications Manager.
